On average around 600 people die in the UK every year from complications due to 'normal' flu, which is also a coronavirus. It can get up to 10,000 in a bad year and nobody seems to **** their pants about it, so like you I don't intend to start now. Although in the supermarket the other day the cashier sneezed on my ****ing change and handed it to me. Self service from now on, and wash your hands people.

The Chinese tend to go a bit over the top with these things, I went to Hong Kong during the SARS outbreak and when I checked in, I found my main supplier had arranged for a load of face masks, rubber gloves and disinfectant spray in my hotel room (with strict instructions not to press the lift buttons without the gloves on, despite the hotel having someone in the lift with disinfectant, spraying the buttons every time they were used).

We must think alike Chazz, which is scary, for me that is before you say anything. Me reading mask, rubber gloves etc in the hotel room got me wondering about OLMs possible predelictions.

Most of the deaths have been people that had existing health problems or were of old age.

They’re also starting to think that it’s less contagious than flu as it spreads by close contact (through coughing) rather than further distance like sneezes like the flu spreads.

Not visiting Singapore because there is a virus outbreak in Wuhan, is like not visiting Hull because there is a virus outbreak in Casablanca.

Yeah you say that but the people/business I need to visit are semi-closed and HK is almost locked down. I'll go later in the year when all this crap has died down and I can get my work done and also enjoy the trip.

As a matter of interest, all schools here have been closed this week and just announced they will also stay closed next week.

I do also think these things do get overhyped especially with social media. I was in China during the SARS outbreak and as OLM said the Chinese do go over the top with these things.

I just hope I'm not tempting fate now:emoticon-0138-think

The 3rd UK case was from someone who had contracted the virus in Singapore.
