Funnily enough, I've managed to work that out for myself. In case you hadn't noticed, I'm discussing things as they happen too. And my initial reaction isn't disappointment. If FPP takeover, excellent. I'm pointing out that it's not the end of the world if they don't. You don't need billionaire owners to have a successful football club and being a billionaire doesn't guarantee success in football. But if you want to wallow in despair because a bunch of blokes who showed some initial interest but then haven't been falling over themselves to get involved might not (and I stress it's still only might not) now buy the club, you crack on.

No one is wallowing in despair though. They're just saying it's disappointing that the seemingly mint potential new owners aren't looking like taking over, meaning we are into the absolute unknown. If you're not disappointed then I think you will be, because I'd imagine probability dictates the next owner is unlikely to be as renowned as FPP. Either way, you can choose not to be disappointed, but don't think there's any need to pull others up who might be. Again if you're so good at working things out surely you'll have figured out that everyone has different opinions, they're as entitled to be disappointed and post about it as you are to randomly not be arsed that 3 billionaires have decided to walk away

This is literally what has been discussed for the past three pages. Doesn't necessarily mean anything one way or another.

Yes, I understand that people have different opinions. That tends to be how forums work. Just as people are allowed to say they are disappointed, I'm allowed to say that I'm not. My initial post was simply an indication that it's not the end of the world and I wasn't pulling anyone up. You were the one who started on about people's rights to express an opinion, not me.

And what if we end up with a Mark Campbell type, or a Venkys? Then we'll all be wallowing in despair. Because I'll guarantee Donald won't give a **** who he sells up to now, as long as he gets the asking price.

That's true. Just got to hope we get somebody decent, because some folk saying it couldn't get any worse, well one look at likes of Bury and Bolton says it could.

Well one thing we can guarantee is that the loan is no longer in play, as it was to FPP Sunderland LLP. If that company no longer exists, then the charge will be removed shortly and it must have been satisfied. The loan charge can't exist without a company to be paid to, so it has been resolved.

The only way this can mean FPP still buy us is if for some reason they wanted to satisfy this as part of the deal to buy SAFC.

I can't think of any obvious reasons, but I can ask the mrs tonight if there are any minor tax advantages to it, as she gives tax advice in these exact situations for one of the big 4. I doubt it though, and even if they were, FPP would have purchased Madrox and absorbed it into their group rather than winding up FPP and becoming directors of Madrox. Getting rid of FPP as an entity probably signifies this one is dead.

That's it. It's always got the potential to go either way when new owners come in. Donald could have been an absolute disaster but in reality, he hasn't. We've just got to hope that whoever it is, is serious.

Agree 100% with @The Norton Cat though. It's fine if it's someone else.

I'm not fussy which billionaire(s) takes over or what they know or where they come from. As long as they've done everything legally and they have good intentions for the long-term future of the club and its fans. They will still need directors with a football background to run the club for them.

The richer they are, the more it will feel like loose change to them to spend £50m on a striker or developing the local kids to become top players. I doubt any other group will come close to FPP's wealth even without Dell. We'll probably end up with another Steward Donald looking to get us up to the Championship on the cheap for a quick profit.

Apparently not. According to folks on Twitter. The loan is owed to a seperate similarly named company that's registered in the US.

Fair enough, the loan could still be in play then. I'd still say if they identified this vehicle as the best way of investing in us though, it probably wasn't an accident and it indicates they won't be doing anything more than that.

Next things to look for are removal of the charge on our company. May take a week or so if it was filed recently. If it doesn't go, the loan is still in play.

No, there probably won't be as many with the same spending power as FPP. Just because they are rich doesn't mean they will spend though. Similarly, a consortium of slightly less wealthy individuals, using good business sense, could propel the club just as far. The thing is, we just don't know what will happen, FPP could still takeover, someone else might buy the club. All we know from today's news is that something, of some sort, might be happening.

You're getting confused here. The UK company is being closed. The American company still exists and it is they who loaned us $12m.
