Gedson and Alli, especially the latter, have massively changed the game in our favour. If it ends like this though it’s been a robbery
Sounds like Tanguy and Dier together just hobble our midfield, we can’t carry someone who’s semi-fit and seems to be a bit of a luxury player, as well as Dier who just lacks mobility and fitness. Especially when Winks appears to be knackered after the City game. Seems that Gedson and Alli really helped change the game and I hope that if Tanguy continues to struggle with fitness then we see more of the young Portuguese. It also sounds like this game might have been the beginning of the end for Dier and Jan.
In the cup you just have to win deserved or not we are in the last 16 with a home tie to come - may be undeserved tonight but that's knock out football
Job done Itsy bitsy performance with an itsy bitsy patched up team Dier is way too slow Gedson looks like a skilful busy CM, I like him beautiful slide rule assist from Dele
I fear you're right,. But the speed of Verts decline has been really shocking. A year ago he was still a top, top defender. He's now a make weight. I cannot recall that fast a decline in a player without a serious injury involved.
Yeah Gedson brought some much, much needed energy whilst Alli looked like the 2015-2017 version and not his brother. Think you’re right on Jan and Dier. The camera panned into Jan when he was taken off and there was a look on his face as if to say “I’m done here”. Dier done a few decent things in the game but in general he’s just a shadow of the colossus he used to be in Poch’s first 3 or 4 years. He’d struggle to make the XI of any side in the Prem at the moment.
Did any of you think the decision to award a penalty for the 'foul' on Son was correct? Genuine question.
It was very, very marginal and given the fact that we are not Liverpool, I have to admit I was surprised it was upheld.
