No, it's not distance selling. Lawyers are there to flag it before you do any deals like this, after you sign, you can use warranties to go after a seller that you believe misrepresented something, but he wouldn't sign any deal without it being done. Like I say, probably more an in-joke about the exaggerated nature of the deal.
