The scoreline flatters us though. Yes we have been the better team and have mostly bossed the game in the centre of the park but... we haven't actually created many good chances apart from the goals and Oxford have had 3-4 opportunities to score (off the line, mis-hits, etc.). I'd say 3-1 or 4-1 but would settle for anything that sees us go through.
On a side note. Klopp disrespecting the Cup? Not the team he has put out but the fact he couldn’t be bothered to be present when technically his first team are playing at home.
Disagree - Joelinton's miss from close up and Miggy's miss cancels out Oxfords chances. We re a defensive team so the opposition always get chances. We've bossed midfield and their passing has been poor, if we had a better strike force we'd easily be further ahead.
Could have let 3 in, instead we score 2. To be fair to Oxford they look good for a team 8th in league one who sold two of their best players last week. Is that us doing that though?
For as much as some people mock Shola Ameobi it does feel like if we'd had a 22 year old Shola up front for us this season he'd have got 5-10 goals for us by now. Oh well, £40m and we have someone who is currently not quite as good as Shola was.
Think the whole thing is disrespectful - Shrewsbury playing their 1st ever game at Anfield apparently and they only get to play a kids team. Appreciate you wouldn't play a full first team, but surely some squad players could gave taken part under Klopp
Or not Wrong to have VAR for some games and not all. If not possible for all then it should be for none.
