The sun is shining very brightly today in Hertfordshire, it seems much brighter than for a very long time.

I'm looking forward to watching the horns gain another 3 points this afternoon.

Morning all. Some showers to start the day, but now the sun is just breaking through and it looks like it will be very mild again. We often used to say that winter finished here at the end of February, one of the big differences to the UK where it seemed to drag on for ever some years. I have one of my dirty jobs lined up for this morning. The insulation around my woodburner door needs replacing and I remember last time I did it it was a very mucky affair. Still amazed that my team won away on Corsica last night, and when you look at the stats Ajaccio must wonder how on earth they lost. Have a good day whatever you might be doing. <ok>

Good morning... Wet here.. But back home later today.

Yesterday we visited the Vassiviere sculpture park and contemporary arts museum on an island near us... On arriving the lady at reception said sorry but the centre was closed.. And between exhibitions... Some other people turned up and she decided to lock up and offered us a private tour of the entire facility including workshops archives and the like.. And half in English too. We spent an hour or more being shown every nook and cranny including areas closed to the public. We we were blown away by her kindness and then when we got back to the reception she offered us all tea.. A memorable visit...

Morning all. Wet and windy, so outside jobs are on hold again. Managed to get to the fields yesterday afternoon, but the green lane is underwater again. Since our bread machine has appeared it has become quite a meeting place for people, and I have had some interesting chats with people who I have met for the first time. As it is at the junction of three different regions you do find that the local dialects are quite obvious. As Yorkie found out yesterday people are helpful and friendly if you are the same even if you do get a bit lost for the right words from time to time. Have a good day whatever you have planned, and a safe journey Yorkie. <ok>

It seems we will be hearing from the man in the bread queue for quite a while!

Which one SH. There were six there this morning, and I shook hands with all of them. I wonder how often you shake hands with your neighbours seeing as you regard them as cretins.

Only a couple of my neighbours are cretins. Fortunately their attempts to oppose my planning permissions failed miserably. I once had a French neighbour in the Tarn who was also a cretin, he unsuccessfully tried to steal some of my land. He was made to pay the geometric expert and for reinstatement of the land.

As from last Friday your European neighbours are on the other side, it is not good to admit to fraternising with the enemy. Remember the previous warnings about loose talk. :emoticon-0105-wink:

This just goes to show that it's a waste of time closing political threads, because the nastiness just moves onto other ones. Better to contain it all on the one thread.

What it actually shows is that we have one poster who doesn't respect the wishes of the majority to keep this thread clear of political comments.

It is not possible to exclude politics from every day life, which is why several posters, including you, have slipped politics into other threads.
We should have political threads, those that don't want to contribute can always avoid these.

At the moment SH the majority of posters are fed up with them and don't want them. It might surprise you to know that there is common theme to the messages I receive, but it is clear they do not want them on here.

I have no doubt the success of the Tories thumping majority, Labour's demise and the deliverance of Brexit has shattered the confidence of the controlling clique, but they should man up and debate the very interesting next phase of the detailed potential trade negotiations.
