They ought to open the transfer window again and let Terry have another go. Needed at least two more really experienced championship quality players coming in. Our midfield especially needs a captain type to get it going. A young inexperienced forward is not what is needed other than for the future. Great business for the owners again but that’s the last of the family silver gone. We have lot of L1 players in this team on a **** run of results. I hate to say this but I am missing Nigel’s positivity speeches at least they were amusing. Terry seems to spout the same old bollocks about the top six but he must be seeing something that I am not. I wish he could come up with a plan B we need one quickly.

We’ve signed a load of League 1 cloggers without signing a clogger to kick people.

Also anyone disappointed that Bowen hasn’t sent a open letter on social media to thank the fans and the club? Normally the thing to do in these modern times. He soon out how excited he is about the move. Even Kamil did it.

It was poor today but most of the starting 11 were at the club before Terry arrived. Of his signings, people have raved about DaSilva, of the other 4 players that started today they have only started about 12-15 games for us between them all this season, averaging less than 4 starts, and they have all, as you say come from league 1, so give them a chance. This season is over and Terry is clearly now building for next season on a budget, despite what he says.

Does anyone REALLY need an open letter spouting a load of fake platitudes? He was a Hull City player, earned his wages and gave his best for the team and now he's gone - open letters on social media, fans needing managers to wave on demand - wtf are we turning into?

A player demonstrating how they really feel about a club/supporters only comes after they leave. No one gives a **** about the "Fantastic support today, sorry about the result, we go again" tweets because they're meaningless, but a player thanking the fans/club after they leave is appreciated as it shows graciousness and common decency. No one's world is ending if it doesn't happen but it can be revealing.

Regardless, he posted one so no harm done.

You can mark down the 31st Jan 2020 as an end of an era. From when Phil brown took over till transfer deadline day, Hull city had the potential to achieve things, now it's back to being just another club that exists. There might be the odd promotion in the future but that will only be after relegations have been suffered to the lower depths of the EFL , so it will be promotions from league 2 or league 1( to take us to what is now considered dizzy heights for the club, the championship).

Others maybe not, but Bowen is a little bit different. The clubs done a lot for the bloke, they gave him the chance as well as the staff and fans alike. Just like he’s given a for the club as well.

A bit of humility in football goes a long way, especially in a game full diving, cheating mercenaries that don’t give a toss. Even if such a message may come across as ‘generic’.

Despite not been a 12 year, I do feel the fan base gains a tiny bit more rapport with Bowen with such a message. A lot to fans are type such messages to Bowen an all, so a response is nice to see.

Fair observation. Could well be right.

Bar maybe the remaining for now Toral (who?) 1st Feb does mark effectively a totally new era. One being constructed on cheap, young, mainly lower league or development squad, potential ... and, as Enob has been saying the model will be for some time (but it never really previously happened), only signing players with profitable sell on potential.

Cup half empty - in truth, we were a way off being a promotion side before 1st Feb, we look a million miles off at the moment. McCann looks tactically naive once again (as he did in those early matches after he joined), our midfield & defence is all at sea as if there's no coaching going on, and he's failed to address obvious issues within the 1st team squad (particularly leaders and strength & quality in the middle of the park).

Cup half full - it could work, McCann could over time build something new, exciting and ultimately successful. Some of the players being brought in do look talented, but converting that potential into real quality doesn't necessarily happen.Time will tell. Things will hopefully look heck of lot better when (if) we get, in particular, Stewart, JDW, & Elder back, and when the likes of Wilkes, Maddison, Samuleson, this new lad from Motherwell, maybe even Balogh settle in & get properly up to speed. Bowler, when fit again, might also step up with KG & JB gone. But it's concerning how much we are missing (a) Stewart type in midfield, and how dependent we are on him, given Batty doesn't seem to be favoured (odd, as he's currently the most natural obvious stand-in).

I lean toward cup half full still (as bad as yesterday was)

On top of that, the Allam's attempts to bring fans back and improve unity have failed spectacularly. Prices are simply way too high, and many will simply never forgive nor forget. Maybe the selling of Bowen and the return of the chanting might see their resolve to sell strengthen (IF it was ever there). It needs them to go, and for us to hope that the next owners are an improvement.

Although I would have preferred Bowen to stay, Grosiki leaving doesn’t bother me at all.

We need a club that functions as a football club should. Develop players and sell them on.

Comparisons have been made in the past with how poor we are compared to the likes of Southampton and yet when we do the same as them it’s all doom and gloom.

Two player sales (Maguire and Bowen) have provided the club with strong finances.

The players who are here now want to be here and they feel confident in getting promotion. Ask them where do they think we will finish and they say promoted. Samuelson is convinced that the squad we have is strong enough he said as much on Thursday night.
Keane Lewis Potter will fill the void goal wise and he is another player who should end up going for big money. Da Silva is already showing that we got a bargain. I cannot recall offers coming in for a player who hasn’t had a full season with us.
We lost 5:1 last year with what was on paper a far stronger squad.

    Largely agree.
I do think they didn’t look confident yesterday, but that might have been partly, and subconsciously, due to 2 good players going (one unarguably our best player) and having other key players out due to injury.
Whether they genuinely think they have a chance at promotion, I’ve no idea, but they do need to step up and play together well.
Yesterday had too many times players weren’t moving into space for passes and when they did passing was poor.
Brentford are a good team and I was there last year when they hammered us at their place.
If they have hope, great, but for me the focus needs to building a way of playing for next season. That needs to consider whether the players we now have are suited to the system or not. If that leads to a good run, great
