The use of the phrase banana skin has been done to death by me lately but this one folks really is one of those. Newport have form roughly the same as our own and have truly picked up of late. If we are to take the points this time I think our troops have to turn up for the 90 minutes. I think we can win it but it is going to be hard going.

Never easy supporting Argyle is it? Not pretty by the sounds of it (and yes I could hear them from here) but 3 points without Sarcevic. who's been our most dynamic player all season. And on a day when Exeter lost, which is of course a cause of great distress to us all.

Colchester, Crewe and Bradford to come this month, which could make or break the season.

First of all it was a hard hard win. Not that Newport were great having said that. We and they were neither great nor poor. It was just a slog. The Ref was definitely not a homer. Not that we know what one of those is. He gave us nothing in the second half except a Red. That was bought by the Newport players and no matter what that Ref might say he WAS influenced by their reaction. It was for me a yellow at best. He let a number of things go for Newport only to blow when we did it. The lino on the Lyndhurst side was also pants but for all of the 90 minutes. Anout a yard plus behind the play minimum throughout.

Boy did we miss Sarcevic. The engine room was missing and we managed to miss pass a load of passes throughout. We tried hard at times to let them back in having scored an easy goal at the start. They had one or two players who were half way decent. The one Sawyer got sent off for had him by the bollox most of the game. But, that doesn't mean he deserved the card he got. The game was littered with missed chances on both sides and sometimes you wondered how the ball stayed out. MOM for me was Palmer who did really well and kept us in the lead a number of times. Would not want to play Newport every week.
