If we’d accepted the Bordeaux offer, we’d have been over £2.5m better off, it was a perfectly good offer.
I’d need to see the facts of that offer tbh They were willing to give us that when he was out of contract? So we extended and now no one wants him?? Hmmmm
We rejected a €2m bid last January, we were initially demanding £6m for him, later cut to £3m. We completely overestimated the demand for him.
I thought given how highly rated he is by our fans he’d have been snapped up! Personally the lack of interest is simply a reflection of his ability - he’s really not very good.
Don't think so. He stated numerous times when joining us that he plays 4-3-3. The sort of players he's been bringing in seem to suggest that's still his aim. Bowen, as good as he has been for us, tried increasingly to do everything himself. And Grosicki, again as good (and frustrating) as he has been at time, was not exactly the best provider. Who knows, maybe once GMcC gets his own settled side, we might see more goals coming from a CF and from elsewhere across the team?
Oh ****ing hell suicide watch for you know who Or will he continue with his own ****ed up workings out
Very much agree with most of that. Still think we are sorely missing something in CM. We've missed Stewart for sure, but would like to see us bring in someone of quality (and strength, guile, ... ) .....err, yeah, the new Ash #legend. And to keep bringing the young talent into and through the u23's. And slash match day prices. Then, who knows what's possible.
The chances grosicki messed up on tuesday night. We should have had the game won in the first quarter of an hour.i thought we looked very good. They scored a break away goal and our heads dropped and belief went and we became ordinary. Loved grosicki, loved Jarrod Bowen but we will be ok. Will take a bit of time to get the side up to speed. I hope keen Lewis potter gets his chance as he deserves it.
Does that include the giveaways of Tom Carney and Liam Cooper? There’s a fair chunk of money there that got forfeit in favour of his son.
I hope this hasn't been posted before, but it is interesting to get some perspective from the Posh fans regarding Maddison. https://londonroad.net/2020/01/31/marcus-maddison-the-departure-of-a-flawed-genius/
Liam Cooper wouldn't have got in our team at the time. We were in the Premier League don't forget. In fact I doubt if he'd get into our team now. Have you forgotten his debut v Liverpool ? 4-0 in the first half ? Lost 6-1. Carney was another one, all the talent in the world but a heart like a butterfly. Anyone pointing fingers at Leeds for letting him go as a youngster for FA. ?
Nothing wrong with Cooper’s performance at Liverpool, the disastrous showing was entirely down to Sonko.
