We will see if people are happy in a couple of years when we will have a better idea if it was the right thing to do.
Still the EU - if they had listened to Cameron and given him something ‘real’ all this could have been avoided! That said, I’ve personally always wanted out since it became more than a Common Market - that’s what the people voted for!
Just been reflecting on the Brexit celebrations that swamped our TV News yesterday, and it was interesting to see that much of it seemed to be the older generation playing Chaz and Dave or old war music, waving the union or cross of St George flags, and eating traditional food that was eaten when it was rationed. It seems to me that these people are searching for a past English/British identity that they must feel has been eroded in the last few decades rather than the political independence which the politicians talk about. That's my take on what I watched anyway.
But they are also the ones who have experience of not being in the EU and seeing it morph from a Common Market to a pseudo State
