I don't know, we've still got a decent looking 11, yet to be convinced but happy to see what our new signings can do. Can't believe i'm saying this.......but.......we all talk about how many goals and assists Bowen and Turbo have contributed, but when you consider the positions they play, you'd kind of expect that they'd be racking up a lot of our goals and assists, I hope more than anything that we see more of KLP this season now.
I think it may be something to do with paying up a portion of a players contract if you sell without them having requested a move, if we signed him now for whatever, Peterborough if they sold would still have to pay him the remainder of whatever loyalty bonus (if there is one) he had in his contract. This way, Pboro will effectively get the same amount for him as long as the loan fee is an equivalent to the transfer fee and will save some on the loyalty pay out. It's not real life....but Football Manager players will relate to this when selling a player early you typically get a heads up that you still have to pay x on a loyalty bonus
Probably the way the deal is set up, meaning WHU offering a substantial amount and probably more then Palace up front with better add on's plus a better deal for Jarrod. £22m is not to be sniffed at. He could have left for nothing in three months time.
He's talking about the Maddison deal, not the deal for Jarrod. We're not getting £22m for Bowen, we're getting £14m, with £8m in add-ons, much of which we won't get, as West Ham are getting relegated.
You don't know that. Also no-one except the two clubs know the actual ins and outs of this deal. And I doubt if we will ever know.
Why is Maddison a loan? What’s all that about. Cheap skates Allams at it again. How many points do we need to stay up?
Discussed above, it's an obligation to buy so it's no different to buying him, think it just works out cheaper for Peterborough this way.
It's not really a loan, it's an arrangement where we pay a hefty loan fee instead of a transfer fee, we've effectively bought him.
As you say long way to go, but Bournemouth have been absolutely awful outside of their most recent performance. Shockingly bad. And Howe stubbornly sticking to his tactics which isn't necessarily a good thing. Then there's Villa leaking like a sieve and Brighton slowing down (losing to the aforementioned Bournemouth). Who knows, Bowen going there, scoring 3-4 goals could revitalise them.
I think Villa have made some decent signings this window, I think they'll improve and get out of trouble.
