Probably should have checked on that....

In any event, they're extremely unlikely to sell to a club who couldn't afford that Polish forward from AC Milan...Plus, Ally Gold says it's bollocks.

While it was rapidly ruled out (but not rapidly enough to prevent the Lunatic Fringe mouthing off...) he's actually a good shout: he's a reliable box-to-box midfielder who can run all day if he has to, which is vital for us at the moment as some of our squad can't run for more than 60 minutes, and he's useful both in breaking up play and transitioning from defence to attack

To be honest we should have bought him instead of Stambouli way back when, as at that time he was a Bayern squad player and he didn't really establish himself until he was loaned to Schalke in 2015

It looks like our 'new striker' options are down to re-signing Adebayor or going for one of...Mario Balotelli, Christian Benteke, a one legged Gary Doherty (who retired 5 years ago); or we could grovel to Chelsea to sign ****ing Olivier Giroud (and fail).

It was always coming down to something like this...and you just know that we'll end up giving Troy Parrott some minutes.

Basically, Son, Dele and even Lucas are better 'strikers' than any 'striker' we can actually buy so better keeping the money for the summer.

If Paco the Alpaca is available from Dortmund, as appears to be the case, why don't we go and grab him?
Some random English striker as backup probably wouldn't hurt, either. Our homegrown quota is going spare, for some reason.

So if I gave you ten Spurs players and the choice of Dele, Son or Giroud for the last spot, who would you pick?

As a number 9 - Giroud he is a specialist centre forward who would bring the best out of the other 2 who could also then play in their best position

Depends. Did you include a goalkeeper in those ten? If not, Giroud - he's a big enough lad, after all

Giroud. 100 times out of 100. He’s a natural striker that knows the role, not someone being played out of position.

"Newcastle have landed "a big coup" in signing Danny Rose until the end of the season, manager Steve Bruce says."

He is certainly big in many ways these days
