We’ve had nearly two seasons of Bielsa, we know he doesn’t ever make wholesale changes, even the returning Pablo was made to wait. I think due to Bielsa having to shuffle the squad for the missing Phillips he will be reluctant to change anyone else unless forced to do so. Let’s not turn this into a debate over the qualities of Phillips, I’m expressing an opinion on the way Bielsa thinks and operates. He will wait for Phillips to return to give him his stability in the middle before dropping Poveda in I’m sure. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong, just Bielsas way, when he does play him it will be in place of Costa, I can see Dallas going back to LB and Alioski on the bench, that’s if we stay injury free. It will be interesting when Phillips is available if Bielsa makes him wait for a chance again as a kind of punishment for a silly red or if he’ll throw him straight in. Good to have options, I can’t see Augustin getting a start for a couple of weeks at least and I agree he will become unrestful if he doesn’t however... If he doesn’t get a chance it will mean Bamford is scoring and Leeds are winning so I’ll be happy either way
O'Kane has joined Luton on an 18 month deal ✍️ The Hatters are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Eunan O'Kane on an 18-month arrangement from @LUFC. Welcome back @eunan10! https://t.co/lvHWBq9UND #COYH pic.twitter.com/7BDmXJG3Ue — Luton Town FC (@LutonTown) January 30, 2020
It ain't a debate about Phillips, it's about Bielsa, Poveda and JKA, but you mentioned missing Phillips, well, we didn't miss him against Wall, even the last time he was banned I think we won, that's 2 games without him we won. He's had 2 red cards and missed 7 games through too many yellows as well, that makes him a liability. If Bielsa throws Phillips straight back in then it's unfair on other players who are made to wait. I predicted 7 to 9 points from the 3 games Phillips misses, if we achieve it we don't miss him. Poveda and JKA should start at the earliest opportunity so they're bedded in for the final run in....
For the record I predicted 9 points not 7 but not because of any player missing or playing. Yes it’s about Poveda, Augustin and Bielsa selecting them or not, I was politely trying to point out to you how Bielsa operates and why he won’t throw them both in. Phil Hay just posted... Bielsa says Augustin is in good physical condition "but when you have to adapt to a new team, it's about more than that. There are other factors." i.e. needs time to get up to speed with Bielsa's tactics etc. #lufc In other words, don’t expect to see him soon.
Phillips will have missed 4 games this season not 7. 5 yellows for 1 game ban, 3 games for a straight red. Not had 2 reds this season. Last red was Forest last season.
Why let facts get in the way of (further) character assassination? Can't you leave the man to his delusions? He can't have a tug because of his straight-jacket, so he's got to amuse himself in some other perverse way.
Pennies from heaven? If the FA want so sort the ****s throwing things they must first sort the ****s officiating the match What was that ****s name who cost us the title back in the early 70's Tinkler or something, the old bloke running on the pitch to give the bastard a well deserved slap, wasn't your everyday hoolie, I wonder if it was Leeds60
That bent ref should have been ****in flattened by that OAP he weren't no ****in Snowflake, gawd bless him
It reminded me how good a commentator Barry Davies was. He couldn't believe the goal was allowed to stand.
