They want him gone and the window closes tomorrow, so they’ll take whatever they can get for him now, it doesn’t have to reach his release clause.
Only to be replaced by yet more lower league ‘talent’. A statement of intent...a club going nowhere ‘Dare to dream’...Not anymore. Allams OUT
Is this Maddison any good? I only know he's left footed like Bowen and plays predominantly from the right for posh, can he play on the left too or behind the striker?
21 games 9 goals and 6 assists this season. I’m sure I’ve seen it somewhere that he’s provided more assists than any other player in the top 4 divisions. He also almost exclusively owns the league one goal of the month competition. Here’s his goal in August v MK Dons
"Fans would have been hopeful of a big January after a promising first half of the season, but having only bought in squad players, it is hardly the ambition that the promotion-chasing fans would have hoped for". I doubt many of us where that 'hopeful'! In our dreams maybe. Sort of agree with what Swanny is saying, but it isn't really a case of having 'bought in squad players', more a case of having 'bought in' young cheap promising talent to rebuild the future squad. Hopefully we see the benefits next season or the season after. ..... or is that again in my dreams?
Nahki Wells is set to sign a 3-year deal with Bristol City after a £4 million fee was agreed with Burnley for the striker. That might just be enough to give them what it takes to go up.
Has cut short his loan at Hartlepool, and returned to city to discuss terminating his contract early (out of contract in June) so he can become a free agent after the window closes, and be able to sort his future out.
Nah. Wilks, Samuelsen, Balogh, Magennis, KLP all likely to be ahead of him in a front 3. And maybe ano coming in. More likely just a sensible move to recall him, or for some other reason that we don't know about.
Hull City winger Tyler Hamilton has had his loan spell with Hartlepool United cut short as the Tigers attempt to resolve his long-term future. Hamilton joined the National League side at the start of December, initially on a one-month loan deal that was extended until the start of February. However, the 21-year-old, who has scored once in eight appearances at Victoria Park, has returned to East Yorkshire as he looks to resolve his contract situation. His current deal expires at the end of this season and Hartlepool boss Dave Challinor has explained the Pools would be interested in bringing Hamilton back to Hartlepool in the future. “Tyler is back fit but with him, he’ll be going back to Hull,” Challinor told the Hartlepool Mail. “He’s looking to do some kind of severance on his contract there which again will make him a free agent when the window closes which leaves him with options to look at where he’s going next year. “I’ll be keeping in touch with his agent and Tyler in terms of where they’re at and what they’re looking to do because it’s certainly not a closed book for us. “But he’s been recalled by Hull in order to try and sort the remainder of his contract out and try to put him in a better situation personally.”
GM: “Kamil Grosicki has been granted permission to speak to West Brom. He was keen to speak to them.” GM: “We’ve had 2 or 3 teams interested in Markus. It’s just whether it can get sorted before the deadline. With the Euro’s coming up, it’s important he goes to play football.” GM: “Jarrod is the best in the league in his position. He loves it here and he loves Hull City. He’s not at all disappointed that he’s not had any bids and he’s happy to be here.” GM: “We’re in the market and we’ve been looking since we found out the extent of Josh Bowler’s injury, even before we found out about Kamil. We’ve got bids in for players but if they don’t happen I won’t be disappointed.”
So what we will do is play him in a position where he isn't the best in the league in favour of someone else.....!
Phil Buckingham just tweeted the same, apparently DM reporting it no firm confirmation as yet from either club
Sorry hadn't seen that! I've asked him what the add ons are so hopefully he can find out, on the face of it is say it's below average deal for us
To be honest, if and a big if, anyone is prepared to shell out 20mill for Bowen, I'd snap their hands off right now, our flirtation with the play offs is gone, so take the money, and get the team used to "life without Bowen." He has been off form over the last month, whether that be from personal issues or the transfer rumours. I would be gutted to see him go and also Grosicki, the latter who has excited and frustrated us with equal measure over the last few years, but who can blame them for leaving, they are probably both under whelmed with our recent transfer activity and team building, seeing the standard they would have to play with, and deserve a shot at a higher level.
Bristol City midfielder Josh Brownhill is undergoing medical at Burnley today ahead of move worth up to £10m. No wonder they got Wells.
