I may be wrong, but can't see us releasing him before the summer. I still don't think though it would be a disaster as he hasn't hit the heights of last year at all. Does send out a weird signal though
I am still of the opinion, despite the last couple months of results, that our squad isn’t very good and every player has their price. The main thing is whether our recruitment is going to improve now Crocker is back and if the club will re-invest whatever is generated from sales. Obviously there are players we would rather sell before others
I am still of the opinion, despite the last couple months of results, that our squad isn’t very good ------------- And 31 points, with five teams below on 30 makes us not all kinds of safe. Lets not sell everyone on the last day in Jan. Lets fire sale properly in the summer.
Easier said than done, if Spurs are actually interested now they might not be in the summer, plus Hojbjerg contract runs down another 6 months leaving him with a year left which would significantly affect his value. I’m not saying give him away, but if Spurs put in a sizeable bid before the deadline closes then I’d be tempted to accept. The only reason I wouldn’t is it would leave us very very thin in CM. If we could loan in someone before the window shuts then I’d definitely sell
Although I would add that I can’t see there being truth in the rumour. Spurs have loads of CMs as far as I’m aware and have already signed one this window
Letting Cedric go obviously sends a signal. Open for business as normal. Small time mentality. The southampton way. My only comfort is, we were good for two months. Just imagine the damage a good season will do us.
And even if this is BS. We have let them in the door. Few mind games before the cup game. Nicely played. All for a couple bucks at a crucial time. I feel sorry for our players, on a historic run of form, and now we have distractions. Damn I'm annoyed today. Not helped by the fact I've been painting.
Open to offers, come and have a browse. Last day for sales. Wouldn't be surprised if we get a one legged Wanyama in a swap deal!
How does a rumour that Spurs have enquired for Hojbjerg mean we are open for offers on some mass sale?!
Can't see it. It's more likely to unsettle his current midfielders who are effectively being told they are not good enough.
