In a statement, the veteran broadcaster, 67, said: "It was a misjudgement which I regret." ITN said he had breached editorial guidelines, but did not elaborate on the reasons for his departure.
Sounds like an unnecessarily hasty decision to give him the boot for someone who has been around so long. Don’t see it as Danny Baker-esque.

I also thought Nigel could have been a bit more graceful. Many in Brussels have been a bit nasty to him in the past so I guess he thought it was payback. It was theatre and nothing else. He even said it himself, that he is the Pantomime villian and they boo him. As for Pension? he has spent 27 years there so why shouldn't he have one? You don't have to like a job to claim pension. Before we knock Farage's pension, you should also think about the mass amount of hanger ons that get paid ridiculous amounts for doing nothing in Brussels... not to mention the money that is wasted? However, I believe he is not taking it and has stated this. I think we will all be happy when it's over and can move on.

When I refer to Sajid Javid as a coconut, I am not referring to his skin colour; I am referring to his lack of loyalties and patriotism towards a group of people from the same background.” Which sounds to Guido like she is referring to his race… Last year Saj felt forced to hit out against a torrent of left-wing racial slurs including ‘coconut‘ and ‘uncle Tom‘, demanding that Jeremy Corbyn denounce supporters of his who repeatedly sling them at him. Mizra view does seem to be isolated, with people on all sides of the political spectrum condemning the phrase. Pienaar, however, chose to chuckle along rather than challenge the targeted slur. Why?
