Villa having a horror show against a ruthless Man City side. For how well they defended against us it's shocking today, although obviously Man City are another level when they're on it. Hope Brendan has been taking notes today.

I know anything can happen in a Final but I'm not sure how appealing a Cup Final against them actually is <yikes>

Perhaps the reason Brendan played that ridiculous formation against Man City before Christmas was because he knew we'd get them in the final and wanted to lure them into complacency. At least I hope that's why he played it! :emoticon-0142-happy

Another outstanding keeper performance against us, no excuses though, shouldn't have given them the chance to win it at the end, real shame.

Lets hope they take it out on Chelsea on Saturday.

Best team won. It’s not all about possession or even shots. Every ball was falling to them again, they had so much more desire and nerve. We are a very mentally fragile team

Need to bounce back straight away against Chelsea. Just hope the disappointment doesn't wreck our season.

Their keeper made some fantastic saves and they took both of their chances.

Didn't fancy getting spanked by Man City in the final anyway! :emoticon-0127-lipss:emoticon-0127-lipss:emoticon-0127-lipss:emoticon-0127-lipss:emoticon-0127-lipss:emoticon-0127-lipss:emoticon-0127-lipss:emoticon-0127-lipss:emoticon-0127-lipss

Well done Villa. You would have gone out in the 1st round if Poch was your manager...…..!

Villa got their game plan spot on. Teams lower in the division are learning what they have to do in order to stop us playing out from the back and we have to have a plan B to go a different route when that happens.

Why didn't Gray go out to close their player down rather than back off and give him so much time to make that final cross into the box? :emoticon-0121-angry

At work so had to suffer the game through the BBC website. It's a cruel way to find out you have conceded in added time when you can't see it happening. Haven't watched a replay and don't know that I will. Never mind, Chelsea at the weekend so let's increase that gap.

Fair result even though we generally dominated play. They took their chances and we didn't take ours, which happens a lot in cup matches.. :emoticon-0103-cool:
Villa at the moment remind me of us, when we came back after going all the way down to the third tier, just a few years ago. What a f**king ride that was! When Villa went down, they badly needed to get rid of all that expensive dead wood they were carrying and clearly have.
All PL teams from 5th down would benefit from a year in the Championship which would allow them to reinvent themselves in a similar fashion. :bandit:

Doesn't always work. Who would have thought that Sunderland would be where they are now?

True enough. Not really something to do on purpose of course, especially these days with so many reliant on the 'telly dosh'..
