Honestly I respect that, thinking about it, the lads who aren’t from Newcastle probably have more of a soft spot for them than us who are from there. Simply because you chose to support Newcastle it wasn’t forced on you, I think my dad/grandad would of chopped my bollocks off if I chose to support anyone else.

I think it’s just from past experiences I’ve had, like a lad from uni from Cheltenham said to me “I support Newcastle but Cheltenham’s my team” I mean eh?! Baffling. To me that’s just supporting a team for the sake of it. But as you say you’ve been a fan practically you’re whole life so I just guess it depends on the person really.

 

& when I say forced, that doesn’t mean I don’t love Newcastle United. But by god I’d have had an easier and less complicated football life if I was born in Liverpool or Manchester
