Clean shoes, clean nails as my old mum used to say. Always worked for me.

    Good luck.

Didn't get the job at Ideal :emoticon-0101-sadsm

It didn't feel right from the start of the interview. The whole thing lacked energy.

There doesn't seem to much out there atm.

Christmas time is always **** jobwise, unless you're trying to get a temp job.

Just keep at it, something will come up <ok>

    Is location important?

Lots of decent factory and construction work in Finland and Germany paying around 20 euro an hour. Boom in fish processing plants this year on west coast of Norway paying 215kr an hour. Fire guards and welders also needed in Hordaland as offshore work picked up - you can get many of the jobs before you come - Poles and Lithuanians are soaking them up, but a noticeable rise in working Brits moving into Europe the last couple of years.

In Austria last year and they couldn’t get anywhere near enough hotel cleaners.
€25 an hour from memory (although maybe not 8 hr days, I’m not sure)

Do you not need experience to get these jobs? Half tempted to sack my office job off and get down to Norway.

If you're in the UK, you can take your T1-T5 fork lift ticket for £600... That's your experience. For construction, obviously need experience in your field, but plenty of openings for basic help workers, if you don't mind lifting.

If you've got an office job now though, it might be a more difficult transition, especially during winter.

A lovely thought but with Brexit kicking in we are all losing our automatic right to live and work in any of the EU27 countries.

Good luck with whichever one you go for......is there by any chance a relative / friend who looks enough like you that could give the other one a whirl!

Im free Friday, send me the details & I’ll do my best not to secure an arrest warrant against you.

Best of luck. I’m sure one will rearrange.

Did you get them through an agency? They might be able to rearrange?

Unfortunately, both companies couldn't rearrange the interviewers.

So I went for the one with better prospects.

    Really frustrating though.

EØS countries maintaining rights for British workers for rest of year and most likely all of 2021. If you've got a job by then, you won't lose it, you'll just have to apply for 'permanent' residency, which will be simplified and back dated effectively for all British workers. Post this date, it will be more complicated for unskilled workers.
