If Cedric is going in the summer it would be useful (if its possible) to get a RB in on loan with an option to buy. Gives us half a season to see if they are any good or not. Try before you buy. And we need the cover anyway!
The NFL system is that you get to watch the near local team each week. The other two games in the afternoon are set by NFL based on who knows what (usually a “big” team). If you follow a team not in your local area you won’t see them much. To see all the games you have to subscribe and pay up.
This would seem to apply equally to CB and more importantly to LB. It would be downright negligent to let the squad go into the final part of the season without a replacement LB.
We have a huge number of decisions coming up across the squad, really. Long, Yoshida and Cedric will see their contracts expire at season's end. Bertrand, Romeu, Hojbjerg and Boufal have 18 months remaining. Unlikely that we'll get any great sum for any of them, and I'm not sure how many of the latter quartet would have mutual interest in extending their deals.
We’re linked to Celtic’s 19y/o RB Jeremie Frimpong. Left Man City to join them in the summer but fits both our needs and our profile. Think he’s been pretty well regarded this year.
Southampton looking at Frimpong Jeremie Frimpong only left Manchester City for Celtic last summer but a return to the Premier League is already being mooted. The 19-year-old right-back has proven a big hit at Parkhead since moving north for an initial fee of £350,000, potentially rising to £1 million in bonuses. Sources have told The Athleticthat Southampton are one of several Premier League clubs to have been keeping a close eye on his performances for the Scottish champions this season. Currently out injured, Frimpong is already a firm favourite with the Celtic supporters thanks to his energetic performances from right-back, while his jubilant television interview following their Scottish League Cup final victory over arch-rivals Rangers last month — in which he received a second-half red card — cemented his “Oh my days!” expression as a new catchphrase. The Holland youth international has started 11 of Celtic’s last 14 Premiership games and has been included in their Europa League squad for the upcoming knockout phase, having made such an impression since he was initially left out back in August. Several clubs have sent scouts to watch him in recent weeks and, although a move will not happen this month, Celtic’s determination to keep hold of one of their stand-out players is likely to be tested in the summer. If Frimpong was to move clubs yet again, City would be due 30 per cent of the fee due to the terms of his transfer last year.
I had forgotten they were there. I know they were doing well a few months ago but haven't heard anything recently. Any idea if they are still performing well enough that we might be able to shift them for good?
Yep, we are going to have to face the consequences of not managing the squad very well for 2-3 seasons. You don’t even mention the 70 million quids worth of ‘talent’ on loan either.
Method in the madness - only two slots available in the treatment room, so bring him in, Valery will get relegated to the first team squad.
Ely seemed to be scoring regularly before the winter, but I haven't noticed him doing anything recently. Albeit I've hardly been following closely. Could be injured for all I know. With Fraser, it sounds like they're desperate to keep them. Been making saves left, right and centre, including I think being MOTM in the league cup final vs Rangers.
