I had intended it to be a cheap and cheerful trip. Staying in one or two star hotels, simple lunches and dinners. See the main sights of cities and not reallt do any day trips elsewhere.

The wife gets involved with planning and perhaps going to the Carribean may be cheaper...

    And warmer!

Best thing about the summer is sitting in the sun with a pint, although it's a shame I struggle to tan. I always just get extremely burnt.

The wife likes to keep moving.

I wanted to relax a bit in each city so chose Bordeaux to start in and over a period of 15 days head towards Italy.

I've had to curtail some of the wifes plans such as starting in Bordeaux, heading to Biarittz, then to Toulouse, then Marseille, then Geneva, then Salzburg, then Vienna, then Ljubljana, then Bled, then Venice, then 2 days in Croatia, then Venice again, then Florence, then Rome before heading back to Paris for a night before heading home.

That was her 15 day plan...

Sounds more stressful than anything else OT lol. Meanwhile I will be spending my summer holiday in Cornwall! Although I am also going to Disneyland Paris for a week next month.

Ouch expensive! Not to mention tiring, I think you definately made a smart move curtailing those plans:tongue:

Although I would of recommending going to Toulouse, I went last year with my aerospace course at college with the main purpose being to go to the airbus headquarters and the space centre, and I thought it would be really boring but the whole city is lush! Even the Aerospace museums were interesting.

Make sure you take plenty money for disneyland Paris mate, I went for a team night out for 1 night and spent £500, A pint in the club in the park was £9 and that was about 5 years ago. In saying that i spent £250 on a day session is Glasgow last week, maybe i am the problem!!!! lol

Think im off to Albufeira again this year for the 23rd time!!!

Was there in 2006,I stayed just round the coast in cala llonga. Santa Eullalia was lovely, nice harbour area and prices are good compared to San Antonio. Good choice of bars and restaurants. And there is a geordie pub which does great pub grub!!

Off to Glastonbury this year like.
Was thinking of doing Sonar too in Barca around my birthday, the whole city comes even more alive than usual!
Also probably going down to the South of France with the gf - reckon we'll be touring around but mainly Vinsorbes and Provence region.

Went to Cuba last year, at about £3 for a bottle of white rum it's definitely cheaper. That and every barman seems to be on a mission to get you as ****ers as humanly possible as quickly as possible. Also made a fair few quid back selling Cuban cigars when I got home.
Went to Egypt the year before, may well give that a swerve this year.
