I'm basing my opinion solely on his appearances for us, and they have been good enough for me, and I have heard nothing to suggest he has gone backwards.

His loan at Grimsby went well, feels like an age since I last saw him in a Sunderland shirt but he did look good.

Robson is 23 and his last sustained period of football was for a team in the bottom half of league two. I understand that you rate the lad, but I think it's a stretch to suggest he could have the potential of Maja.

Out of interest, do you think he's better than Dobson or O'Nien?

He is as good as Leadbitter in my opinion, I rate Dobson and O/9 and dont think at this time he could replace them, it would be too big an ask and could destroy him, but I do however honestly think from what I have seen of him he could be as good or even better than either, its all just opinion as I am well aware , and could easily shoot down my own argument.
Off subject I'm watching the cricket at the moment and its been a treat, our tail end wagging and its raining sixes after a dreadful collapse of our middle order.

Yeah I fear you are right, but we do need a creative midfielder so when Maguire goes MIA we have a back-up and a striker.

One of the points from last night is that in the 2nd half we had a lot of crosses but too few players in the box or in the wrong place to take advantage. A natural goal scorer would anticipate and get on the end of more crosses. Hume's ability to get crosses in is being wasted atm.

Nearly always agree with you smug but Watmore starts blowing after 10 - 15 mins even his speed has gone backwards , personally I think McNulty offers more of a goal threat and links play better . I feel sorry for Watmore who has suffered with a catalogue of injuries but we can’t afford to be sentimental .

Bit of a catch 22 but without that time on the pitch he won't get his fitness up, I wouldn't start him but I'd regularly bring him on for whichever of Gooch or Maguire is knacked/not playing well at around 60 mins.

When we were in the prem that was when he was at his best, attacking a tired defence.

Maguire's so hot and cold I wish you could tell in the warm up whether he was going to be poor or play like a genius. Parky should devise a series of tests to put him through on match day to see which version we'd get if he played. Take a few free kicks and see if they bullet into the top corner or hit the first man every time.

it's pretty clear we need more quality in the squad to manage the intensity of the next month in particular, and finish the season strongly: another wing back, box-to-box mid, nippy 'inside forward'

gutted about embleton as he has the game to replace/compete with maguire, esp. on his off days
I guess wages are an issue if we cannot get shot of Grigg and McGeady. Hopefully someone takes those ****ers off our hands

If one of the crosses went in off someone's arse the lowest rating would be 6 maybe even 7. Its a funny old game.

We have to get automatic. Not bothered about being top just top two will suffice. I dont think I could handle Pompey again down there.

Pity our fans went on a sponsored silence in the second half of this game and the whole of the Charlton game.. We may have been a Championship side with a trophy if had got behind the lads..
