Morning all. Cloudy but dry, and little to no wind. It is lovely to have daffodils in the house that I was able to cut from the field. They do not last very long in the heat of the house, but the hyacinths I planted up in bowls are in full flower, and have a beautiful scent. I bought a bag of ten mixed colour bulbs and have waited to see what colour they would be, but they have all turned out to be pink. Enjoy your day, and after watching a programme last night about fitness, I feel inspired to get more active again now that winter is coming to an end here.
Do you mean this weekend or next? This weekend dry and temperature about 12°C, the following weekend 16°C but maybe a few showers. Of course this should be regarded as a guess as the météo forecasts change daily.
Morning all. A lovely warm Spring like morning here, and the wood burner is still chucking out heat from the large logs I put on it yesterday evening about 5.00pm. I need my son-in-law, the tree surgeon back again. He pollarded half of my very large ash trees and reduced them to logs for me. Those stumps are now growing away again at an amazing rate, and in time will produce even more timber. This is very different to some of the local farmers who pull the whole tree out of the ground, so it never grows again. I will spend time outside and enjoy the sun. Have a good day.
Lovely walking day here..... Off to London tomorrow for a William Blake exhibition, a theatre production, and a couple of good restaurants... . we will enjoy walking from place to place and not getting the tube....
Morning all. It is really like Spring here at the moment, but will it last? February can bring us some very cold days and some years snow. Some of the mountain areas have had heavy snow this winter, but with temperatures being higher it is creating dangerous conditions with avalanches quite frequent. Meanwhile one of the local squirrels was digging in one of Mme's containers when I went out to open the shutters, no doubt trying to remember where it had buried a walnut it collected from the tree across the lane. Have a good day whatever you are up to.
Morning all.. Stuck on a platform en route to London as Kings Cross is closed.. We were told to change at Chesterfield so 150 passengers from Leeds dutifully waited on the train at Sheffield and watched as the London train on the bext platform pulled out.. When they followed it down the line and it left Chesterfield as we pulled in .. Guard says he couldn't understand it as it was a confirmed connection.. Hey ho... Have a good one!
