While I agree that we and every other club should live within its means I get the strong impression that all we are doing is 'kicking tyres' right now until such time as we get grigg and macgeady off the books. Maybe macnulty too. It would seem that the safc pr machine want fans to believe we are actively looking but we cant afford the wages of players like docherty, Boyce et al while our wage bill is as it is. Reality is that clubs who might take macgeady and grigg will wait till the last minute to see who blinks first. Only clubs in div1 and 2 will take these players off our hands and they will want help with wages before they take them. Much as it irks many, these players arent going to take a hike on lower money. They will want sweeteners. I personally think lafferty and Wright will be as good as it gets sadly
Looks like Boyce is off to Hearts, medical due weekend. Wrong timing for us it seems, as it stands we've still 4 strikers on the books. Hardly likely to sign another while that's the case.
Think you're bang on about that. Double whammy when you've overspent on a player who doesn't perform, you get nothing out of it and you can't get rid of them. Seems like the only interest in Grigg has been from league two and there's an obvious stumbling block.
I don,t mind having to hang on to McNulty, and the other two while surplus to requirements at present, both would be fine if they showed the right attitude, especially McGeady who could fill a more central role if required, especially now that Embleton has been set back.
Looks that way, ideally we get rid of both him and Grigg and free up some space, but time is not on our side, I'm no fan of transfer windows tbh.
This is the end Mcgeady my old friend The end This is the end Mcgeady my old friend The end of everything that stands Mcgeady my friend, the end. I’ll never look into your eyes again. The end.
