Probably doesn't help that if we did win most of these players wouldn't play in the next round! I doubt Gray and Quina will be at the club come this time next week - sent out on loan.
Talksport commentary: “I don’t think Gray has had a shot on goal in this game. He’s only scored two goals this season. He looks like a player who has only scored two goals this season.”
And I’ve always thought he could be a decent player in the Championship, maybe getting 15 odd a season.
Good luck to them against Man U. Proper cup tie on rubbish pitch against out of form side . As for us - shows up Gray again and the lack of experience or physical shape showed .
Not a good night for us tonight A couple of the youngsters showed some promise But, but, just imagine if they do the same to ManUre watched on TV by millions
No Success even on the bench, so I expect that he might be going out on loan somewhere. On a pitch like that one it is quite normal to play a longer ball game, but we heard that Gray just isn't suited to the hold the ball up game. Maybe it should be him to go somewhere else for six months, but could we rely on Welbeck staying fit that long? I will be awaiting news on the Sarr hamstring.
Sorry abandoned the commentary just after half time, result probably a blessing in disguise and good experience for the youngsters.
I suspect had that pitch been better Hughes, Welbeck and Kiko might have played but they get more time to be fit which is good .
