On Tuesday, when he almost gave away a goal by gifting possession to Palace in midfield, his first reaction was to stand still and watch what was happening. Yes, he just stood there, then started shuffling back goalwards. Didn`t seem to have any urgency about the situation he created.
After a period out of the first team it took him a while to get back into stride and I think that gaff gave him a timely wake up call. Had a decent game after that. Still has a future here IMO. Noticeably, all our CBs are now looking decent. Question is, have they really improved that much or have we just sorted out a problem that existed in front of the back four.
I think sorting out the issue behind the back four has been just as influential. I don`t want to sound like I`m on Vestergaard`s case, I`m not - I just thought it was a strange reaction to a mistake.
