I'm not a big follower of the Royals but this has all turned into quite decent entertainment tbh. Harry has mastered the art of speaking in vague clichés and making the most mundane things sound dramatic. 'I fell on a dogbowl'. Whenever he's pulled up on something he either claims his words have been taken entirely out of context ... ... or that the media are to blame for reporting something that he said in the media He'll no doubt blame the media when she eventually kicks him into touch, 'all we wanted was a little privacy'.
The trouble with her is that everyone else is wrong and they have it in for her and her husband. Reap what ye shall sow, I think the bible says.
Half a dozen claims in his book now proven untrue. The best one being when he was told about the death of the Queen Mother (gawd bless 'er) Not going well Harry. Her book is going to be spectacular.
I think they’ve been played like puppets perfectly by the royal family to cover up the mess that is prince Andrew!
He reckons his taliban words aren’t dangerous- it’s the media interpretation of them that is. Well, Harry , even if I give you the benefit of the doubt and understand as a British person ,that the full transcript shows no bragging — then please realise and acknowledge that the Taliban will not be passing the “ explanation “to their people and thus YOUR words are still dangerous
That lad - maybe boy man would probably better describe him - is just a permanently blank page. There is nothing there, and he's the sort that you would ask the others to keep an eye on if you were supervising a group. He's obviously under par. If he'd met a water divining, ultra vegan flat earther, he'd now be one of them. A bloke in his forties suddenly displaying a faux Californian accent, along with it's many absurd idioms is a cringe worthy spectacle. Never been a royalist mesell, just happy to accept that most disagree with me, and I expect there'll be a lot more people identifying as royalist after the pathetic sight and sound created by Mr Windsor, if he's that's what he's called. He'll have something else written on that blank page soon I imagine, when she gets sick of him and boots him into touch.
Haven't watched any of it but that is what he is now, he is a a list celebrity at the moment. In the same boat as film stars but without an ounce of talent. He is going around whoring himself out to make a few more quid. The bits I have read online he comes across as jealous and bitter of William. The name of the book even gives it away and he uses the phrase heir and spare to describe them.
His problem is that his 'startling revelations' are no different to most people's ... ... dad divorces and gets a new lass, has rows with his brother, gets gossiped about and has a girlfriend who tries to change him Haway son, you've never had to worry about money or privilege, been given free accommodation all yer life and have none of the responsibilities of your dad or brother ... ... the best response from the Palace would be STFU.
I have no interest in anything they do. I have felt the need to say something because every day now there's always something in the media about them. It's at the point where even William must be sat there saying to himself "for f**k sake, man". Pair of them are like **** in a field. Claims to hate the press yet giving them gold on a daily basis. She's sat there pulling the stings in the background meanwhile his Uncle is getting off very lightly.
I have to admit, I was more in favour of Harry and Meghan, before all these months of 'getting their story out'. I started off this thread with a sketch from Mash(?) About how the tabloids, in particular the Daily Heil, were being appalling to Meghan. The Daily Heil of course still has endless smears of her, but they probably now feel justified. I continue to think the 'firm' missed a trick in not bringing her on board. Anyone from her poor background, )who apart from her mother, seem an appalling family) who has made herself a successful actress, an ambassador for the UN (made presentations to them). If Madge had been younger (and had not died), being a very shrewd woman (who was not keen on pushing Camilla to the fore) my guess is Meghan would have been used to help promote a modern monarchy of relevance in todays society. Definitely, not happening now of course, but Meghan is certainly showing her claws with Harry a willing accomplice. Ps I think Harry is right about Camilla, if anyone is conniving and leading her man by the nose, she is!
"Meghan would have been used to help promote a modern monarchy of relevance in todays society." I keep hearing this and it sounds good but, in reality, what could that possibly mean ... ... the whole concept of the Monarchy is built on ancient traditions, boat launchings and hereditary succession. It's relevant to people who believe in it and, ironically, this pair are making people believe in the status quo even more ... ... who'd honestly want a Monarchy based around the likes of Meghan and Harry?
I consider myself a patriot and love my country. However I am not a royalist and do not have a problem with the abolition of the monarchy and House of Lords. Although I have not seen any of the TV programmes and will not be buying the book. You cannot watch the news, or browse through newspapers on the internet, or have a beer with the guys at the golf club (all generally anti Harry/Meghan). It becomes very difficult to ignore, in fact iits think it gives more ammo for the abolish the monarchy brigade. You are right to imply there is a big anti Harry/Meghan feeling in the UK. Not sure i agree that it helps Charles and Camilla that much. Certainly across the pond, Harry/Meghan are more popular, where what our tabloids do is held in contempt.
What Americans think is totally irrelevant tbh, do they care what we think about Biden or Trump, doubt it. If we didn't speak English they wouldn't give the Royal Family a second thought, it's just easy because we do. And, let's be honest, 'abolish the Monarchy' may be a trendy catchphrase but it'll never happen. The Monarchy has lived through abdications and worse but just trundles along, a spare heir isn't really as important as he believes himself to be.
They tried to bring her on board but she took the huff when she couldn't get her own way 100% of the time. Harry will be back here before he's 45, divorced and even more miserable, with every bridge burned. He doesn't realise what a stupendous deal he had - all the privilege and status, none of the responsibility.
