I know there'll be obvious differences, but all in all and not including price differences, would you say booze was any better back then?
Well I shall be going into Manchester to watch the game, looking forward to seeing us on the tv again!
FC are doing one before the Derby too, so with over 40,000 going to be attending across the 2 matches, hopefully some good money can be raised for him
Reminds me of advice I received when I was a lad. Hull Brewery Mild, it'll keep your **** solid, and keep it coming.
With the exception of John Smith’s, Tetley’s and the special stuff they sold in Nellies, no. Not as strong either. The thought of some of those beers, especially the keg ones like McEwans, Double Diamond etc make me shudder now. The thought of thinking Watney’s Red Barrel was thought of as something drinkable now amazes me The so called lagers then were abominable A lot still are but some good ones available now. Same with ciders. Far more choice now, especially foreign beers. I wish I could have had the choice in my teens, twenties and thirties those age groups have now.
We thought they were great when you were 16. The reality is they weren’t. Some stuff then was so wealk they would be described as a shandy nowadays. I actually drank Double Diamond and McEwan’s at that age. Unbelievabl.
I'm amazed this sold out , makes you wonder where some of these people have been for the last few years. It would be nice to see a few more support the team at league games unless they are just interested in watching Chelsea reserves.
I think some of causes of why gates have dropped over the last 4-5 years have now eased in the minds of some - and this game, with its accompanying marketing push, is the catalyst for people have said “yeah I’ll give Hull City/the Allams another go” in reasonably big numbers. Not to everyone’s taste I’m sure, but I think that’s a big part of why the match has been so popular.
For some, but I would doubt for that many. Mainly cheap price, chance to see Chelsea. At least that's based on one's I personally know. I'm not going. Still pick and choose very selectively. I'd MUCH rather go to see us play someone like Barnsley in the league. Good that it's sold out though.
Some of us still don’t need Prem opposition to turn up every week. “City till I die”...lol. Allams OUT
