Respecting the thread once again, Southall and gang would have been able to have a few chats with Bowyer since November. If it was all straight forward he would have signed a contract by now, it would not surprise me in the least if Bowyer is not manager come the start of next season. Something stinks.
Stoke- an example of how having an owner who is minted doesn't necessarily bring success. We've had three: 1: Kevin Cash pulled out 2: Roland , totally stupid about all things football 3: His Excellency. Who knows?
There we go. A reasonable explanation for the delay. Bowyer won't sign until his back room team are signed up as well.
Charlton boss Lee Bowyer waits on deals being agreed for Johnnie Jackson and Andy Marshall 21st January 2020 Richard Cawley 0 Comments BY RICHARD CAWLEY Lee Bowyer’s new contract at Charlton Athletic could be signed later this week – as he waits for members of his backroom team to negotiate their own extensions. Director of football Steve Gallen is in talks with assistant manager Johnnie Jackson and goalkeeping coach Andy Marshall about extending their terms. Along with Bowyer, all three are due to be free agents at the start of July. The Addicks manager confirmed at the back end of last week that he was “very close” to putting pen to paper. Jackson, a fans’ favourite at The Valley during his playing days, has been Bowyer’s trusted number two ever since he replaced Karl Robinson. Former Millwall stopper Marshall took on his role in the summer of 2018 when Lee Turner opted to move to the Lions. Bowyer was hoping that his Charlton squad numbers would be boosted before tomorrow’s derby with Fulham. Only Andre Green has arrived on loan since the transfer window opened. Charlton would have to have any new additions registered before midday today for them to feature against Fulham, bossed by former Addicks midfielder Scott Parker. The Addicks could have Lyle Taylor, Josh Cullen and Sam Field all back from injury for the visit of the west Londoners. Charlton have won one of their last 17 fixtures.
Confirmed by the club. Lee Bowyer signs a new deal to 2023. Fully, 100% deserved. Now give the man the tools to do the job properly.
Not gonna lie but this must be one of the only time in history a manager having won 1 game in 17 be rewarded with a 5 year contract. Not that I'm saying he doesn't deserve it but I would have said a 3 year contract would be better incase things do go tits up as we'll be looking at a lot of compensation
As Lee Bowyer has said. It is all very well saying it is a five year deal but how much of your contract is paid up. If it is effectively two years it is a two year contract. Lee is happy to sign this contract, that is good enough for me.
Mr Spanner, this was not a porky. He was offering a 5 year deal. Now go back to your cell, activity time has ended.
Activity time starts at 19.45 - is it.on the goggle? Fulham are 4 points above us so we need our little neighbours to do us a favour tonight and not lose.
