Thanks Cologne, I got lucky this week! I assume no NYD predictions?

Decided against having NYD predictions Chris, having 3 rounds in seven days would be too much for my brain !

    Watford Predictions League 2019/20

    League Table

For the second round in a row one of us managed to jump from mid table into a top three place ! With Hackney being the only one of us to pick the Hornets for a 3-0 win, and thus reeping the full rewards, with an impressive score of 154. Matej is still looking very solid at the top and has now opened up a lead of 70 points. Not much change elsewhere - second highest score was by Andy with 94, thus jumping above Seb. The last two rounds have shown that anything is still possible from a mid table place.

I was within a few seconds of getting our correct score yesterday but was ecstatic to see the 3rd go in. Well done the team and Hackney! <cheers>

    Watford Predictions League 2019/20

    League Table

Has Matej taken a decisive leap just at the right time ? Or is it too early ? Quite a long way to go yet but an impressive score of 110 has moved him into a decisive lead. Highest score of the round went to our expert from the BBC - this being a result of the last two matches. He scored a unique result on Burnley v Leicester, and cashed in on Mo Salah's late goal to get full points on the joker (I did as well so I can't complain). Third highest of the round was Scully with 106. There now follows a break for the fourth round of the cup next weekend.

    Position......Prev....Name......Round......Total
    1......1....Matej Vydra 23......110......1,571

Hi, Paul here. the Gunners fan and Hornet fan from the predictions league.

Some very sad news about Brian. Brian passed away last night in his sleep. It was sudden, Brian suffered from a lung condition but had it under control. Brian lived in South Carolina Usa and came over twice a year to see family and Watford games.

Brian was a lovely guy, very caring. I know he used to travel to away games and had a group of friends he used to do that with. I don't know if any of these guys are in the prediction league?

I've attached a photo of Brian and me at Arsenal v Watford in 2018. Brian has the hornets shirt on!

I will miss him so much.

Fitting he is the reigning champion of the predictions table.

    To Brian x

So sad to hear about this Paul. I think he did know a couple of the posters on here personally. At times like this football seems so unimportant - but then it was football that brought us together. <rose>

Paul, first of all thank you very much for passing on this very sad news. It is painful to find out that a friend will no longer be joining in with the serious, not so serious contributions to this forum. Since he joined with us in 2013 he was one of the optimists among us, and his deep love for the club was so obvious from his writings. The way he talked about his next trip to the UK and the games he hoped to see was quite infectious, making me wish that I could join him. I did go to one away game that he was at, but didn't have the chance to talk with him, something I regret now.
Once again thank you, I will be thinking about his family and hoping that they can cope with their loss.

Thanks. Well my email is [email protected] if anyone wants to know more. Paul.

I will carry on my own predictions in his honour if that's ok. I was Brian's guest.

Such sad news, Paul. Despite the fact that most of us on here have never met, and probably won't ever meet, we have a special bond. Thank you so much for letting us know, when you will be hurting. Give my condolences to your family.

    So sad to hear this.

    RIP Brian.

The club usually put tributes to fans who have passed away in the programme so if you like they can mention this in remembrance.

I met up with Brian that day in The Scottish Stores on the Caledonian Road, all too briefly alas, as I think he had to meet with you for lunch? He was with someone, I'm sorry if I've failed to recognise you!
It was a pleasure discussing football, ale and golf with Brian, not to mention his exploits in the WPL!
I can assure everyone else on this board that I found Brian to be as pleasant in the real world as he was in the virtual. He will be missed.

My condolences to you and your family.
