Be reasonable, mate. You were outplayed for 80% of that game and could have been 3 or 4 down by the time you started to play. So you gave it a go towards the end - what else could you do? 1-0 is no better than 4-0 in the long run, it still gets you no points. You lost 1-0 from the point you started to play. You were more open, going for a goal and got caught on the break. If you'd have done that earlier you'd have got caught on the break earlier. This is why few teams try to play that game against us - it keeps the score down, but they're still well beaten. The best team deservedly won that game, and you know it.
Oh you were the better team overall and rightly won, no argument from me there. The only difference i have is in the distance between us, you played far more long balls than us (ask Astro), had a few more passes but were less accurate, had one more shot on target and slightly higher possession. We did OK since i expected a 4 or 5 nil hammering and despite the points difference you ain't no City when it comes to class and excitement.
Please accept my profuse apologies for the fact that we don't provide you with the entertainment you crave.
Thats our strength this season though bro, the players are able to analyse and adapt durung the game and tweak things accordingly like playing it direct when teams press us (like you did today at times) and drawing teams out by passing it back when they sit back.. Ole wasnt calking us a long ball team anyway (thats ridiculous) i think his comments were more an explination of how we can switch it up when it suits.
This is why I wanted to smash them.....and we should have, even allowing for the Disallowed goal from Bobby which was arguably harsh, we had several very good chances to score before Utd probably had a shot on target. Total dominance. But because we didn’t, we now have the likes of Ole claiming that the gap isn’t that big, encouraging @Diego to have the bare faced nerve to come on here, having been schooled and a clear 30 points behind after 22 games.....I will repeat that....30 points gap after 22 games ...and yet he insists that we are far closer to them than we imagine. Never mind @Diego, next year must be your year mate
Stats are **** anyways. Yeah we had one more shot on target, but all of Utd's shots were half arsed and mostly from range with little creativity involved, Allison absorbed them easily and was never really tested. Our shots were far more threatening and produced some fine saves by de Gea (Their MOTM by a mile). Even the two non goals highlight our dominance. They won't show up as registered shots on the stat pages but they were still goal scoring chances had the circumstances been marginally different. If anything, United's 2 best chances were off target. Martial when he skied it and Pereira when he slid in.
City this season remind me of what we used to be i.e. free flowing but vulnerable with poor game management skills and liable to fire blanks. The disappointments of previous years have taught us the mental strength and game management skills that are required to win the big trophies and long may it continue . PS
Alisson has more PL assists than Jesse Lingard this season... He's played five games less! Oh, and he's a goalkeeper!!!
