Have always rated Romeu, but agree he is not the force he was. That said, he does the unsung work so well and has taken plenty of yellow cards for the team over the years. This season, he has been been been better than PEH, whom l felt has been carried. He could have done the job on Taroe on Saturday in the 2nd half. For me, just my view, but when Taroe started playing through the middle after half time, you needed a hard man to step up and PEH was lacking. Just my opinion...

Liked Reed for his commitment, sadly his size, to me, was always a disadvantage. Good player otherwise. Hope he finds a club.

If you are paid more than a gardener or builder ect, then why waste your time doing a task you can out source to someone else, while you make more money with what you do in the meantime. Makes perfect sense to me. But I do really like bad paint jobs, & find decorating quite therapeutic, so quite often when time allows me, I do get stuck in! <laugh>

Because you enjoy it? I don’t work in manual labour but enjoy working on my cars and house. Something really satisfying about taking on a job on the edge of your comfort zone and getting it done.

Holiday season in NZ means you can camp alongside the builders all with brand new Utes and range rovers, all dragging brand new boats and matching jet ski's. Its far from a lowly manual trade over here.

Spot on. Watching the game against Huddersfield, I was staggered how much slower we were with Romeu and Vesty in the side. That's not a criticism of them but a compliment to Ralph for wanting to play a faster, more attractive, brand of football.

Different era, players today are much faster and stronger now. Also, given those players you mentioned are of my youth; you selected three of dirtiest players of that time! If young Reed tries to emulate them he will have more time on suspensions than playing time! :emoticon-0100-smile

That would really mean leaving ourselves short in midfield...

Yep been there, recently revamped the kitchen with new worktops and cupboard doors. By the end I would have happily paid a fortune for someone else to do it. I would have gone with out food for a month, just for someone else to finish it lol.

Ah, you see, that’s where I thought to myself “I need a new kitchen”, but I’m painfully aware of my shortcomings in the DIY department, so I got someone in to do it. Expensive? Yes, but I’m just SO glad I did .......

This was exactly my thought. The match against Huddersfield was a salutary lesson to anyone thinking otherwise as to why certain first team players have been absent during our period of improved performance. I have got to say that both Yoshidi and Vestergaard put in the kind of performances which signalled to me that they would not become first choice defenders for anytime soon unless there was an injury. In fact, I think the latter probably demonstrated that the way back for him , if anything, looked more remote.

As far as Romeu is concerned, there have been moments when I could not see him being dropped yet this now seems less and less likely. The appearances he has made lately and towards the close of last season always seem like a ticking time bomb for me. It would be interesting to see just how often one of her careless tackles have resulted in a free kick or a miss-placed pass has been intercepted for a goal. I love his commitment and think he has been a solid player for us in the past. However, whenever he has come off the bench, it is noticeable how often we concede from a mistake he has made. At the top of his game, I would argue that there have been matches where he has often been out best player or at least the most committed. The resurgence of Armstrong has, for me, cemented my impression that I prefer PEH and JWP as a midfield three.

The comments coming out of St Mary's the last few days have been disappointing. New transfer activity either in or out at a time when increased competition at the back might ensure that the collapse against Wolves is less likely.
