So I use twitter a lot and often, many fans are extremely negative, and not just in a pessimistic way but an outright, melodramatic, almost vitriolic way... And most of that negativity boils down to two things, Kenny Jackett and the Eisner's. But I don't understand it...

Firstly with Kenny, I admit our start to the season wasn't great, we had some dodgy results and after the Coventry game, I was questioning whether he was the right manager but in the last few months, our form has been pretty good. We've lost two games in all competitions since mid-October. I looked it up. Okay the football might not be pretty, we might not be the highest goal scorers but we're still getting results, so what's the problem? At this point you may as well get behind him because no club is going to sack a manager with 2 losses (admittedly bad loses) in 3 months!

And secondly, and the one I understand the least, all the vitriol towards the eisner's who are seen as cheapskates and not investing... But hold on a minute, didn't we sign John marquis for a reported 2 million, a huge amount of money by league 1 standards, and he was top scorer in the league last season I believe, hardly a signing showing a lack of ambition... Yes we lost Lowe and Clarke, but when higher league clubs come calling, then you have a mission to keep them unless you break the bank but no one player is bigger than the club or should be...

Plus, the Eisner's made no secret of the fact that they wouldn't be throwing around huge amounts of money as soon as they came in, it would be a case of sensible, sustainable investment... And people generally agreed to that approach. Now it seems like they're doing what they always said they were doing and they're being vilified for it. And it seems so incredibly short sighted, fans just wanting huge amounts of money spent, just to wrack up massive debts... Um, did you miss the whole period from 2007 to 2013? That didn't go so well. Seriously, some fans need to get a grip. Just 7 years ago we were hours from liquidation, we had been relegated twice in consecutive years, we nearly ended up relegated out of the football league for goodness sake, and now people are complaining even though we've lost two games in 3 months and are six points from the top and this hasn't been built on mountains of debt? These are halcyon days in comparison to our recent history yet it feels like many people have learnt nothing, and just want to repeat the mistakes of the past as well as having no appreciation for how much better things are nowadays... Frankly, some Portsmouth fans are just embarrassing

Sorry for the rant but I don't understand it. Am I missing something? Am I wrong? Is my view somehow a totally incorrect one and these people are right to have the views they have?

Is it because the Eisner's have invested very little money, and that imporovements to the squad and ground are being generated by funds that the club are generating by one means or another?

Even if that is the case, isn't that a good thing? It means we're not building up debt... In an ideal world, owners shouldn't be a club's personal bank account because then the club is dependent on their owners and if they lose interest or the ability to bankroll the club, it ends badly. We should know. Ask Bury fans, Leeds fans, whoever. Owners should more be like a safety net which can provide funding for long-term things that would otherwise far be beyond the realm of the club to be able to do that benefit the club such as infrastructure and stadium developments.

The moaning/groaning/whinging comes unfortunately from shall I say, the younger element of Pompey fans who think we should by now be back in the Premier League. They are too impatient by far, hence the abuse they regularly dish out to manager Kenny Jackett, as well as promising young players like Ronan Curtis.

Our owners have been totally honest with the fans since day one, promising investment in the facilities at Fratton Park, as well as the academy which is starting to produce a number of really promising young players like Haji Mnoga, Leon Maloney, Harvey Rew and Eoin Teggart, who are all capable of making the grade as good professional footballers.

They are keeping the club out of debt which is the most important thing, and hopefully securing the club's future hopefully playing in the Championship within the next year or so.

I think a lot of fans were hoping that the Eisner's would invest in the stadium. I would have thought that erecting a new North Stand with capacity for around would prove to be a winner in terms of increased capacity to around 25,000 and PFC are certainly capable of 20,000 plus gates on a regular basis. That is quite a lot of revenue not being harvested. In addition said stand would generate further funds via hospitality and conferencing. Such a project would not come cheap but if the club took out a mortgage, as we do when buying a house, the investment would be repaid.

Once the Milton End has been redesigned and extended, I believe the North Stand will be next. The owners are apparently buying up any private houses that back onto the South Stand as they come up for sale, I suppose with thoughts on the future of the ground. They already own a fair bit of land and commercial properties at the rear of the North Stand which is good news.

Twitter and the internet brings out the harshness of people because its faceless and people can talk brutally without having to face up to it.

I do think however that they (and sometimes me) do have a point regarding Jackett.

He's a very lucky boy that he didn't go after that draw against Cov from 3-1 up, at home, against 9 men, and he takes off a striker for a defender.

Around that period we were particularly bad and several times since he looked like a dead man walking.

Personally I don't like him as manager but I'm a pragmatist and we are doing okay now so I'll keep quiet, hope we go up and maybe get to Wembley.

I have to say though that the quality of the football he puts out is the worse or as bad as I've seen over the past 8 years or so.

Going to FP has been really hard work past few years, the formation horrible, square pegs in round holes, and the entertainment value really really low.

Generally League 1 this year is very very poor.

We are however finding form so I'll keep quiet and hope eventually KJ goes after some success.

Eisner's are a little bit of a concern as to compete in the Championship you need a lot of money and I don't think they're prepared to spend big which leads to the questions - where are we actually going? What is our aim over the next few seasons? Are they happy to just slog it out in League 1?

I like them as blokes - particularly Eric who is clearly enjoying being part of the set up and I do cringe at some of the severe comments they receive.
