They've come in for a lot of criticism this year and I think most people would agree at least one new CB and probably another full back would be priorities in the January window. But looking at the table, we currently have the joint-best defensive record in the league (which surprised me).

Maybe they're not as bad as we think they are <laugh>

    I
Would like another Jordan willis alongside the one we have if truth be told.
Ozturk and lynch are acceptable for this league and fortunately not too many sides in this pub league have more than 1 decent front line player.
Beggars cant be choosers I acknowledge

I thought we looked very solid defensively yesterday. I haven't felt that way for what must be years now.

Looks better when we’re attacking and is helped massively by having two mobile CMs like Dobson and Power to help out both at the back and by breaking up attacks

I read a few weeks ago about how good our defence is and I was equally surprised, to be fair the clean sheets are starting to accumulate nicely. I think we win a lot of aerial duels and defend set pieces better than anyone.

We've started getting clean sheets since Parkinson took over. Ross had heard about clean sheets but didn't know how to get one or even what the **** they looked like despite making everyone defend at the complete expense of any sort of attacking football

Willis is far, far too good for League One.

I dunno how we got him for nowt, but I’m glad everyone else ****ed up.

very very good defender reminds me a bit of mensah without the injures!

I love him mate even through the rough patch he’s always been the lad who deserved the badge of the club, and I mean historically, not right now.

He’s constantly improved, Mensah a good comparison just makes everything look easy and he’s a leader back there.

Smashing find and buy he was.

I've always thought that the best form of defence is attack.

Just watched the highlights again (I know ) and big John didn't have to save a direct shot and the stats say MK only had one shot in target out of 13 so the defence must be doing something right.
Strange that JRs 3-5-2 looks nothing like PPs.

I think it looked worse than it was, because until recently, we conceded 1 goal every game. If we'd conceded the same number of goals, but with a fair few clean sheets, it might not have looked as bad.

The "defensive display" at home to Coventry last season was as bad as it gets mind.

Agree with many on here that Willis has been an excellent addition. Get Bailey Wright in alongside him and Ozturk, and a new RB, and we could be solid. Power and Dobson have offered more protection, but we need another one in, to cover for injuries/suspensions, because our current replacements aren't good enough in my opinion.

When we press the opposition in their own half it helps protect our goal.

Lot to be said for that old adage 'the best form of defence is attack'

Probably because he did not play the same defence two weeks running.

Lad on twitter posted this about our form since Parkinson came in. Our defence looks so much stronger.

If you took it from the point that he started to turn things round, after the Gillingham game, we'd probably be top.
