Yeah we got a bit lucky without doubt but not for the red card. Was a crazy challenge. With the new handball law it should have been ruled out but not Wells’ fault. It wasn’t an Henry v Ireland situation.
I just would like the ref to step back assess the situation and if the player was badly injured fine red card.
Should that make a difference? Some horrific injuries come from nothing challenges. The ref isn’t a doctor.
Your player should have been booked in the first half, foot over the top into our guys instep, our player got up and saved him a booking. Your guy rolled around like he’d been shot, I’m not denying it was a red card but he certainly made sure it was. Replays showed it was nothing more than a scissor tackle, he certainly over reacted but sadly that’s the way many players are. If you’d done the same on Alioski he’d have been the same, many of us on here do not condone it when he does. That tackle was out of frustration, it was silly, it wasn’t needed, I’m not too bothered the ref gave him a red, more frustrated at the bookings he failed to give against your players and that between him and the linesman they failed to give a blatant double hand ball, I’m not even complaining he missed another penalty when Costa was fouled in the area
True. But you know where I'm coming from. I'm from a generation that played hard, seen football when it was hard. Why have VAR just for the soft twats in the Premier. I don't like VAR personally, but if(and I know it wasn't) if it was available we'd have got a second peno and you wouldn't have been given that goal and maybe Philips wouldn't have been sent off. It's only my opinion though. Oh just a question, do QPR sell tickets on the day?
There’s zero chance VAR is overruling that tackle and I don’t know how you square an old-fashioned attitude and still thinking Bamford wasn’t diving for the pen.
I was talking about the hack on Costa. Bamford, there was contact on him. Regarding VAR on the Philips tackle, yes I know it probably wouldn't have been used on it, but IMO it was a soft decision, only helped by the reaction of your player.
Should have had a penalty in first five minutes. Bamfords was very Soft. We’ve no one to take a penalty corner or free kick anyway so irrelevant. A scoreless draw would have been a fair result but still only papering over the cracks
Fair enough. It's all about opinions. Leaving the sending off aside. All I want are Refs who can actually ref a game. A level playing field, something Leeds Utd haven't got and I'm not just taking about now. Enjoy your 3 points because that's all it is. We might not get promoted, but there's one thing for sure, your lot won't.
You never know, VAR thought kicking a player whilst on the ground is ok, i'm referring to our game against the Arse, shocking decision. As soon as Phillips went in with that challenge I said to myself, that's a red card, probably that, and our penalty the incompetent twat got right. but your player, who wasn't hurt was running about as if he'd been shot, big soft twat Phillips had got his red card, what else did he want
As I said yesterday, he’s probably understandably aggrieved after being done by the same player in a near identical challenge resulting in a four month injury last season.
I’m rather glad he didn’t though apparently there was some sort of confrontation inside after the game.
