He hardly touched the big puff. I realise you can't tackle in this snowflake era we live in, but ffs.
I’m sure the level-headed folk of Elland Road would bemoan Phillips for not riding the challenge had the roles been reversed.
The reality is this is an average group players for the most part over achieving due to excellent coaching. Few of them can actually shoot or head a ball and you cannot coach that at this stage of their careers
This is why I would like Bielsa to get us promoted, big money guys to buy us out and then Bielsa leave as a hero. I feel Bielsa would struggle to handle the many personalities of the type of player we’d need to succeed in the PL
Witnessed a few last weekend first hand that the stats would call a shot on target. In truth they were little more than a pass that any pub goalie would stop
It was borderline red, deserved but only just. It wasn’t studs into knees, it was a scissor tackle, I’ve seen far worse, I’ve seen similar with no red given. I scanned over your match day thread and even your fans felt Wells was walking a tightrope. I think deep down you know your team stole three points yesterday but it happens
Which is why it’s better we’ve had this inevitable drop in results now. At least there’s a couple of weeks of transfer window remaining. Had it happened in February our season would have been over
We see things differently Eire. What annoys me is the inconsistency, there have been similar tackles where a yellow was issued or sometimes nothing given. It was a silly thing to do in this era. The game of football/soccer to the yanks is slowly turning into a sterile non contact sport.
Good Morning to Matt Doc Rik WJ and co from a frosty Bardsey I watched the highlights yesterday and I have got to say that Bamford should have scored 2 .It was without doubt the worst penalty taken by a professional footballer I have seen and the first half when he merely had to lob the keeper was diabolical I know that WJ believes he holds the line up well but I tend to disagree with this assessment, WE played QPR who have the second worst defensive record in the league and we still couldn't score so if Bamford is doing his job how come no one else doesn't score? Last week we couldn't score against Wed and we have been unable and we still couldn't score when you see how Blackburn scpred 5 against them without Bradley Dack so I afraid to say we will not be promoted unless we come up with a solution and I.m afraid to say Bamford must be dropped. We all know we need a striker but we have before the season began and all clubs know this when we enquire The lad at Brum seems to fit the bill he his tall and can head a ball others in the frame Jackie Marriott would lead the line well and has pace. One thing for sure we will not get promoted unless we solve the striker problem sorry WJ .I also think that the frustration was the reason why Phillips got sent off Sorry WJ but I say it as I feel it
I don't know what Bielsa has the players doing in training, but he needs to have them ALL doing a few days a week at shooting practice because it is abysmal on matchday, Bamford who is supposed to be our striker does a great job for the team, but lets be honest he is useless in front of goal, his powderpuff shots are embarrassing, his decision making in front of goal is not too good either, he should have squared it to one of our players yesterday but tried to score from a very tight angle, he did the exact same thing against Arsenal, Its plain to see we need a natural goal scorer. everything up to the final third is great, we just, as a team, are not ruthless enough, Bielsa has done a great job with these players, we're second in the league clear of third place whatever is going on upstairs in the boardroom regarding transfers needs sorting out in the next two weeks, don't blow it now.
Even WJ won't disagree with your comments. I thought Bamford could have curled the ball around the keeper.
