It certainly feels like we have finally got the momentum, a great performance today. Let's hope it pays off for Parky in the same way it did for Keano. We started well with a great chance but then lost our way a bit in the first half. Having said that we were all over them in the second half and should have won it about 4-1 but it was tough at times and we kept at it. MK Dons can play some good football and if they had our front three they would be right up there.
It was a tough game as you predicted, going off the highlights another comfortable win would have been reasonable but they put up a good fight. It's unusual for us to string together two wins in succession so three in a row makes me wonder, there's the potential there to go on a run.
Yeah - lets hope we are lucky and avoid any injuries or suspensions to the starting 11. We should win the next 2 - Doncaster & Tranmere (if it goes ahead) and then that will set us up for the tough games at Pompey and home to Ipswich. If we win both of those the #partywithparky is well underway.
Too early to talk about 6 pointers? several coming up in the 9 games before end Feb. Donny, Pompey, Ipswich, Oxford & Coventry all in the mix with us. Win these and we could create some space from the pack by March.... along with Rotherham. **** Fleetwood & Joey the Kangaroo.
Doncaster at home 3 wins on the trot against them, and possibly considering the state of their pitch Tranmere away a week on Tuesday. WE will be top next month after/during them 7 games.
Be interesting to see what effect if any new incoming players will have. I get the impression the lad docherty is almost nailed on and seemingly very highly rated. Whose spot is he going to take? I suppose if his presence ups the performance of any of power, dobson, o9, maguire, and gooch, all well and good. I remain unconvinced by our strikers. Oh for a latter day defoe or skp given the chances we are making, but then again maybe the battering ram style of wyke/lafferty is part and parcel of the recent revival. Defensively, albeit we have tightened up, neither ozturk or lynch fill me with confidence, but this is a pub league so the odd channeling of bramble maybe is to be expected Decisions, decisions
Great to spend the match with you RAW and the drive down & back with @Whittylad ... great lads. What a fantastic away day .... .... top support from a massive turnout, maximum effort from the team and a deserved win. This is starting to remind me of our last stint in the third division, and it's a good feeling.
Has there been a Parky's red & white army chant yet? I think the bloke deserves it. Took a while but it would appear he got rid of a troublemaker, changed the formation of the team, stuck by his guns and endured some sh*te from so called "supporters" and is now reaping the reward.
I thought you'd been kidnapped and were trying to tap out an SOS with your nose ... ... I almost called the police
Anyone know who puts these highlights together? They are 8+ minutes long but show every move twice plus the teams walking out etc so we're only getting 4+ minutes of highlights. they didn't show Ozturks first half miss and the tackle on Dobson which should have been a red card by all accounts, don't wish to seem negative but these so called highlights are pretty amateurish in their presentation.
Yeah not sure who does it but they are poor quality too. The unofficial highlights from "GroundHopping" are much better - see post 175
And commentators, when there is one, reminiscent of the speaking lamp posts at the Sunderland Airshow, maybe its the council at work.
I've become a fan of EFL on Quest, I tape the whole show and skip the other leagues, to watch the highlights of League One, presented by Colin Murray, one of the best imo, and guest summarisers who are usually very good, not the usual suspects, last night they had SKP and Ivan Toney on.
