It’s good but we’ve went from large mistakes to whittling them down to small mistakes, unfortunately sometimes it’s still going to be human error that causes the mistakes, impossible to avoid

It's the huge delay and no one having a clue what's going on that knacks it.

Take rugby, when they go to the video ref, everyone hears what they say, for example "can you check if that pass was forward, the on field decision was no and its a try" the video ref then checks and comes back with "yep it was forward, reverse your on field decision"

With footy all it says is "Var check" for what appears to be everything and anything

A lot of the reviews take no longer than we take for a throw-in.

I reckon VAR is here to stay...so they must improve it...

Show the replays on the big screen, so ref and fans can see it. Apparently Manure and the Bindippers do not have screens!

For a couple of laws, VAR highlights problems

Offside by a millimetre is silly, have a grey area to allow more leeway of say 12 to 18 inches.

A distinction between accidental and deliberate handball knows to be introduced.

'Seeking to gain an advantage' by being offside ok s why the rule was originally created.

Something has has gone wrong since then.

On a slightly different VAR moan how can you run a competition like the FACup and have VAR involved at games played at Premier league grounds and not at league 2 grounds like on Wednesday night ? It had a massive effect on the result at OT whilst at Brunton Park they just played normal footie and served up seven goals.
That can't be a level playing field for all clubs entering the competition from the beginning of the season.
    Just a thought.

Saw that Vince, he had time to take the lace out ( you have to be a certain age) and we think the Refs are poor in League 1.

A goal was disallowed at Liverpool apparent some off the ball incedent
Strange where var is used in one game and not the other
I know third tear teams don’t use var
So the top flight clubs do
It’s all about money and not so much about fairness
Still not convinced with all aspects of var

Totally shocking and unacceptable that it is used in some FA cup games and not others.

"VAR cams are 50fps, when you calculate the amount the 2 players involved move within the time between two frames they could have moved up to 38cm away from each other. If you're saying that someone was an inch offside, you have no damn clue whether they were offside when the ball was kicked or not. It's simple bloody maths, so how on earth can no-one in this multi-billion pound industry work this out."

Saw this posted on the BBC site and it makes sense to me, you can't be sure that someone is a centimetre offside unless you can pinpoint the exact fraction of a split second that it leaves the passer's foot and that's nigh on impossible given the tech. Therefore, there should be a relaxing of how strict the offside line is.

VAR should be scrapped. However if it has to be used it should be only used when there is a query on the field of play, a team/manager has 1 or 2 lives (like in cricket) and can appeal to the ref and the ref using a TV screen on the side of the pitch. A game of football should not be decided on the whim of some sweaty bloke sitting in an darkened office miles away, can of lager in hand, eating a greasy takeaway wearing only his skidmark stained underpants.

Totally agree. Although I'd use the rugby union system rather than the cricket one.

The fact that there are things that are being missed by the refs, the players, managers, everyone in the ground and the folks watching at home, but are being judged in great detail by some bloke at a computer just ruins the game for the spectator. VAR should only stick its oar in when asked.
