I always refer to experts when talking about football finance and heres the best source that anyone has regarding Leeds and heres a tweet from a couple of days ago so please read the whole thread as Mike reckons we are at losses of £30m now
Morning All On the striker front we can kiss Adams, Gayle etc, etc, etc goodbye. I can partly agree with EMU on the Billy Sharp front, he's a good player but he's 33 years old and we had him at the back end of his prime and he wasn't that good. I think Mor may have one problem that the fan base may find... he currently plays for Galatasary I agree with 1964 about what we need this window. My Problem is that a month is too short a period to bring in what most clubs would bring in over the Summer months. 4 or 5 players is a fair whack to bring in over 31 days. Eddie was treated like utter horse **** over the last few months and now we're ****ed. This signing for the development squad Bull **** is getting boring now. We're signing players from lower league 1st teams and tell them that they have sit on their hands because they'll come by the end of season. We need to sign for the 1st team cos the aim is promotion this season not 2 years down the line when these kids become good enough for the championship.
Mike also states that when the club say "Due to FFFP rules" it doesn't mean they have broken the rules it could mean that the club cannot invest more because of the 49ers investment. What would happen is that if an investor puts more cash in it means the share value of existing shares is devalued due to the ratchet agreement. That makes sense and also means our breach could be at £33m not £39m hence being close...
Projected losses of £20 million despite not buying any players, bringing in £30 million in sales and getting rid of 19 players and another 2 this window. so where has the £50 million gone ? We have the smallest squad in the championship and the biggest gate receipt, the lowest wage to income percentage at 49% so if that true, we are being robbed Bates style by Rads.
I thought the 49 ers bought a 10% share of the club, that's not diluting the shares it's buying 10% of the shares.
there are times when its fkg pointless talking to you. Lets say that I own a business and looking for investment and you buy 10%. A year later the biz needs new investment because I want to spend it on something. i decide to raise the extra cash and issue extra shares. You would go ballistic because the company is still worth £1m but there are loads of new shares which devalue the original shares which you had 10% of and now dont....
We had roofe who was every bit as good as paddy or Eddie but we wouldn’t give him a pay rise. We took the cash and wasted most if not all of it on eddies loan and wages. Anyone defending this way of running a club needs give their heads a shake
Our profits and loss from last 3 accounting years were £4 million profit, Zero and 13 million loss, bringing a total loss of 9 million. Rad loaned the club the £9 million, which he then took back with the 49ers money, meaning he hasn't put 1 penny in during the last 3 seasons, without the owner putting the £10 million a season in that he is allowed, the FFP figure is only about £9 million over 3 years, which is the FFP which we may have been near in the summer but is £30+ million under the higher figure for an owner prepared to invest money. If that's the problem, a owner who isn't prepared to put any money in or has no money, then he needs to sell, as no one goes up without gambling a little.
If Rad has issued extra shares it's because he hasn't and doesn't want to put any money in, he needs to sell if he hasn't a pot to piss in.
Well according to some, we collected £2.5 million for 3 seasons by selling Roofe, then paid £4 million for a player half as good on double the wages that's if you believe the fairy tails, which I don't.
Go on DOC, can you tell us again how we are near the £39 million over spend limit. second thoughts don't bother as it's all fairytails and bullshit.
TBF, we have Costa on tick, he'll cost us 15m, Harrison will cost us 8m, Nketiah's two appearances 1.5m each and our wage bill must be one of the highest considering we have given new 4/5 year contracts to Klich, Cooper, Dallas and Ayling - all around 20k a week each.
If we don't go up, they will sell Phillips to buy Costa, we won't buy Harrison, and gate receipt and sponsorship aren't one of the highest, they are a mile above anyone else.
