Good Morning. It's Wednesday 15th January, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Time running out for the Whites

Reports from St Marys claim that there is little to no chance of them parting with Che Adams in the January transfer window. This will come as a bitter blow for the Whites as their targets continue to dwindle.

Eddie Nketiah has signed with Bristol City whilst it looks like Villa forward Jonathan Kodja is on his way to the City ground.

It will be interesting to see what kind of impact Nketiah makes at Ashton Gate, and whether his goal contribution(when given an opportunity to prove himself) makes a difference to their season?

Dwight Gayle's injury is not thought to be as serious as first thought, and the 29yo is expected to resume training later this month.

It is believed that Leeds have turned to the Continent and are in negotiations with the agent of Celta de Vigo forward Emre Mor.

The 22yo Turkish Striker has been unable to establish himself on loan at Galatasaray having not found the back of the net in 10 appearances.

He moved to Celta Vigo is the Summer of 2017 for 13m euros.

Hay - Poveda due at Elland Road tomorrow

According to Phil Hay, Leeds target Ian Poveda is due at Elland Road tomorrow to look around the club!!!

The 19yo is torn between a move to Italy, or West Yorkshire.

Hay believes that while it’s not 100%, he should still sign for Leeds.

“They thought it was all lined up to go this week and it should still be, provided things go well when they meet,” Hay said. “But there is interest from Italy so you never say never.”

sounds like he has the credentials to fit in seamlessly

Morning all. Not bothered with transfer window as most of us suspect what well end up with. I hope Bielsa never wins another manager of the month thingy. Hard to believe we won six. in a row, he wins that jinx and we go on to win one from next six. We need to put the London hoodoo firmly to bed at the weekend and that 40k a week "striker" we currently have needs to start banging in goals, end of

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

Another frustrating day I imagine but by tomoz we should know exactly whats happening about the Chievo keeper for the U23s and the Man City winger/midfielder as hes due at ER. The biggy though is the striker and with just over 2 weeks left of the window. I have always felt that the best option would be to take a punt on the overseas market because nobody wants to sell a striker in this country especially in January. When they do they want too much money and factually speaking 50% of strikers bought in the January tranny window don't score!!!! Most on here had never heard of Cenk Tosun who was bought by Everton for £27m and is revered in Turkey as a god and has an outstanding record until he went to Everton. I had hoped we would get him on a loan but he is now at palace and they have paid £1m loan fee and are paying him £100kpwk and will then buy him for £20m in the Summer if they don't get relegated. So what chance do Championship clubs of competing in this market unless they have fiddled FFFP rules. Quality strikers or upgrades on Bamford start at between £15m and £20m. Gayle is injured and not going to be fit for a month then factor in Bielsaball fitness so would not be ready this season and he is being touted as £20m. Can anyone name an available striker in this country who scores goals at this level and is available? If a club wont sell do we just carry on slagging off the club as many fans are doing. No I believe we take a punt and go overseas as the odds on it working are exactly the same as if we managed to get a UK striker. Why has it gone quiet on the Aberdeen kid? Has Bielsa decided against or has he got a better offer?

He looks pretty lightweight tbh too. The Championship is quite physical.

How about this striker sounds a bargain, apparently top clubs could be interested, but could he be attracted by a top coach?
    8M is peanuts,but the wages may be a problem i don't know.
    Dries Mertens (Napoli)
The Belgium forward has a phenomenal record in Naples since his move from PSV in 2013, netting 88 goals in 219 appearances.

However, he has yet to agree a new deal with the Italian club and unsurprisingly some top sides from across Europe are looking to sign him for a cut-price fee.

Atletico Madrid are frontrunners for his signature and are according to The Mail, they are weighing up an £8m offer this month.

Well every club who go up do seem to find the loan players in January which we find impossible,Kodja going to Forest ? Ow look they did the impossible, Eddie to Bristol, the Liverpool lad to Swansea, they are all doing the impossible. But why are we looking to do the impossible ? Because we never bought a single first team player in the summer or last Jan, who's fault is that then Doc ?.
We sold our top striker in the summer and replaced him with a kid on loan who turned out not to be as good, who's fault is that, people are blaming the club because it is the clubs fault.

Jansson led Brentford will go up automatically with West Brom and Nketiah will knock us out of the play offs with Bristol.

Chesh seeing as you are the forums top expert on FFFP rule and you reckon we have £50m we could spend, you would be correct in thinking the club are shyte for not buying anyone. You will probably find however we were too close to breaching and why we needed loans

    Our priorities should be

    Top championship striker
    CB
No.10 (although I think Bamford could play in that position)
    And a proper LB

I'll be surprised if we get any

No more youth or crocks please, we've got plenty of those which we don't utilise now

As mentioned elsewhere. I read that 39 million is the MOST a club can lose. There is a certain amount that a chairman can invest and last year Radz didn't go the whole hog so the most we can lose is not 39 million it's more like 33 million due to lack of chairman funding. That's why he wanted investors last year.

For the record, I like Radz. He has turned this club around but he just doesn't have the financial power to push us over the line.

I'd take Billy Sharp now. He will work hard and can score goals. We are getting to point of being desperate now imo. We will NOT go up with the current squad.

Yes if you want to believe in Santa and Fairies, go ahead, but I don't and only you seem to think we have to spend £50 million, we let our top striker go and get £2.5 million a year for the next 3 seasons, think about that, who did that so you now think we need to spend £50 million.
We sold our best CH for £1.5 million a season for the next 3 seasons, why are we the only club to give away bargain top player sales and then say we need £50 million to replace them.

    Nketiah was treated like ****.

Given his starting debut 29th December; I'm amazed he put any effort in.

As was Lutons player of the season Brown, last season, the top clubs with the top players won't loan us players because we don't give them a chance.

Lack of Incoming activity in three windows is easily explained RADZ IS SKINT. No need for a long winded explanation. He’s an excellent pr man hence why so many still love him

And that's what I believe as well, I also believe he's taken some money back out of the club to cover losses elsewhere. He needs to sell.
It's only very difficult to find good players in Jan if you're trying to get them for nothing.

That is in all probablity what will happen based on our previous inability to hold our nerve and how former players always manage to come back and haunt us sadly.

Still as Monty Python would say:

Always look on the bright side of life
    For life is quite absurd,
    And death's the final word.
You must always face the curtain with a bow!
Forget about your sin -- give the audience a grin,
Enjoy it, it's the last chance anyhow!
So always look on the bright side of death!
Just before you draw your terminal breath.
    Life's a piece of ****,
    When you look at it.
    Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true,
    You'll see it's all a show,
Keep 'em laughing as you go.
Just remember that the last laugh is on you!
And always look on the bright side of life
