echo is saying peter Kenyon could be interested in taking over if he can find the backing, just wondering if he could become the face of FPP.I’m sure he tried to get them interested in buying Newcastle before us
Knows his way around the game (not much league one mind) and would raise the clubs profile But a hugely controversial character. Universally hated by both Man Utd and Chelsea fans
Strange how he may be hated when you consider that both clubs were in far better shape when he was there than what they are now. He is up there with levy in terms of ruthlessness with managers and runs a tight ship. Certainly not likeable but fantastic CEO material. Besides what does the average fan know about running a multi million dollar sporting enterprise...zilch!
If it helped get FPP over the line then I'm all for it and he does know his way around football clubs.
If you look at the money in the championship this season the hasn’t been that much money spent, if we go up we’ll have people lining up for us, hopefully FPP are at the front
Alan Nixon saying FPP are still interested and basically the front runners, but price isn’t right, more chance of a takeover in the summer because the chances of promotion
Fingers crossed that either SD drops the price or we go up. The tweets are here: https://www.not606.com/posts/13493375/
Hopefully mate, looks like it’s going to be another nightmare of a summer for the club , when was the last time we had a normal one
Which is exactly what I've always said and stand by ... ... as things stand FPP are the biggest investors at the club. Their original position has never changed as far as I'm aware. They've passed EFL, done due diligence, registered a company at the SOL and pumped in millions. I also suspect the new directors are there for them and not Donald. Jones has said he's only met Donald three times and would be there when he's gone if the new owners want him. FPP haven't said they're not interested in a takeover ... ...if they're not interested there's no reason they wouldn't say so and end all the disruptive speculation.
This ^^^ makes Donald's comments more bizarre, that they are only staying because he is still in charge.
Since August when he let the whole world know that 4 of the richest men in the world were in talks with the club, it has got to be clear and obvious to everyone including Donald himself that Every Sunderland supporter want these men to take control of the club. A no brainer in anyone's book especially when they have put 10 mill into the clubs coffers. I firmly believe the sole purpose of SD's knee jerk interview on total sport and subsequent statement on the clubs website were just 'I will show them! they want these americans to own the club eh?? well they're not getting it cos its mine'. I don't believe he thought about what he was saying and hadn't properly thought it through, just a hissy fit that he let out live on radio!
Kenyon would be a perfect figurehead for FFP. Make no mistake the man built United, he visioned the potential of global marketing, demand in Asia and he foundationed a super brand. He’s a businessman who knows football, he knows how to market and he is right on it with international markets. It would be a massive coup to have a man of his calibre leading a club at our level.
The only thing I don't get with Kenyon is that if he's so good, why aren't owners of clubs knocking down his door and asking him to join them? There might be a good reason for it, just seems strange that I'd have thought his would be a position you'd recruit for, whereas he seems a bit like the tail wagging the dog in that he's trying to find owners to take over and bring him in with them. Don't know why but it makes me feel uneasy
He had some slightly sketchy things around agents fee and 3rd party ownership that tarnished him a bit, I believe that’s why he left Chelsea. Facts are, it turned out to be commonplace but **** sticks, even if that **** is throughout the market.
They might well have been mate. They just might not have been the right projects for him. I'm hoping that working on building this club back to it's rightful place with FPP behind him would be appealing.
