Indeed. Hence my nod towards looking at the traffic of the three stickied threads.

It really is a nothing issue, but this forum is becoming everything it said it wasn't going to be. Football has become the off topic subject.

The prediction league is a big part of this forum, that's staying. End of.

I understand that. Someone else's passion might be the music or enviro thread. So we reach an impasse.

As I said originally, judge on the traffic.
I'm a big fan of the stats thread, & I go looking for it. I don't want it stickied.
    Simple.

I like the separate threads because I come on here to read about Saints and football....so happy to have other topics weeded out for me, but such threads don't really need to be stickied as they will find their own level.
Doesn't mean that I don't like humorous asides in football threads...as they can be a laugh and make us like a family with familiar jokes...but better if serious topics are isolated.

You won't get one or if you do it won't be acted on because the mods (chilco) has decided it's too important. It's not as if any environment discussion would stop, it was already being discussed in the stickied rabbit hutch. This board is becoming a platform for people to spout their personal agenda rather than to talk football, and the mods are backing them up only because they happen to have the same opinion.
If it is the "the most important thing in the world" close the football and make it just an environment board along with the politics thread. It's already going that way you may as well ruin it completely.

It does have the feeling that this is the start of a environmental and pollutionary dictatorship.

I don't click on threads I'm not interested in and it takes a split second to scroll past them. As far as I'm concerned, people can post whatever threads they like and it matters not to me whether they are stickied.
I don't really see how a new stickied thread is even an issue, and at least by separating certain OT subjects from Ralphs, it means that our general OT chat doesn't get swamped by something that doesn't have a huge number of contributers but can take up pages when there is debate going on.
Environmental issues are a hot topic, so I can see the appeal of a dedicated thread however nobody is being forced to read .

There is a case for not putting a sticky on anything unless it is something like the prediction league which gets regular weekly input as traffic will dictate where things come up in the list. Mountains and molehills come to mind at the moment

It doesn't need to be stickied (I personally don't think any thread needs to be) as if it is popular it will stay near the top of the list of threads anyway. The match thread for whoever we are playing this week will be near the top as it is a relevant topic of conversation for the week, so that doens't need to be stickied either.

If the environment thread is used enough (and judging by the amount TSS posts about it it will be) then it will be near the top anyway.

I think the point people are making is out of the 6 sticky threads we have on this forum created primarily for football , 4 of them have no football connection whatsoever. That's like walking into superdrug and the first shelf having dog food on it with a guy handing out flyers on how to save the whales.

As many others have said scroll past and ignore, you're wasting a lot of time on this none subject.
