Come on Chilcs, using that premise we could divide up all the subjects covered in the rabbit hutch and give them their own thread. It doesn't make sense for you to defend this set up when it was structured better before. If I wanted to write a new off topic thread and get it stickied you would say "put it in the rabbit hutch" and you'd be right to say so.
So, @ChilcoSaint although there have been a number of other posters questioning the need for another stickied off topic thread you've decided to ignore them. What exactly is the criteria for a thread to get stickied?
I have to say, that my day has never been affected by the amount, nor the content of stickied threads. If I'm not into it, I just don't click on it. I think whats really happening here is that we're all so used to Saints being terrible for the past 3 or 4 seasons, that we don't know what to do with ourselves now we're winning every week. What can we moan about? Jack Stephens is good now? Dammit....ummm. Must argue about something... ...just making light of what really is a comical argument. Especially when it's drawn a more heated discussion than actual problems like...the enviornment
We seriously don't need this many stickied off topic threads. This is a Southampton fans football forum not a general discussion forum. We haven't even got our transfer thread or Saints stuff thread stickied. I get that there are some on here that want to talk about politics and the environment, which is fine but I don't see why their threads would get special treatment over threads that are actually on topic and are to do with what 100% of us signed up for.
I don't think a stikied thread that maybe a half a dozen people will contribute to will have much of a bearing on the future of the planet.
Its a very relevant topic that affects us now more than ever. I'm happy to keep it. But it should be judged on its traffic. As should the other stickies, so perhaps we should consider the adhesive qualities of the prediction league and the well trodden music thread. Happy to let them slid away.
I'm not so sure it's a relevant topic on a Southampton football club forum. There are certainly more topics worthy of a sticky. I fully get the seriousness of the subject and peoples attitude towards it need to change. My concern is the thread will turn into a a few people preaching to the others which will cause a bit of friction. I'd prefer those people that are scanning the internet for environment based material while boiling their kettle for a cup of tea probably got the wireless or tv on in the background with some sort of lighting and heating going to. Turn off all of these to help save the planet, maybe put on your jacket and a pair of wellies and get down the beach to clear some plastic or down the local park and plant some trees. That would be a much better use of their time.
One way to settle this, a poll on who wants to keep it and who doesn't. Let the posters decide , cant say fairer than that
