Suspect this is the last chance saloon. In all honesty I think we are too far behind to realistically catch up, but if we don't win this one then that is the final nail. Shame but at least we have not spent over £100m to achieve the same result
Yeah I don't like the phrase "must win game", but the Bournemouth game is definitely one. They're on a dreadful run of form, and it looks like we might have Teemu and Godfrey fit. No excuses, 3 points a must !
Losing to all of our relegation rivals has not helped especially the early capitulation against Watford that clearly boosted them with their first win due to fannying around in suicidal fashion.
Definitely a must win game for me. If only because points will be hard to come by for a stretch after this. Our problem is that we are too easy to play against if the expectation is not to dominate possession - it’s why we tend to over perform against the bigger teams. We need to find a way to contest the defensive, counterattacking 6ft plus average premier league stalwarts.
I agree. Don't win and that's it. It's been interesting though and we've not ladled out loads of dosh. Southampton have a thread asking which teams you would like to see relegated. We don't get a mention. It's mainly WHU.
Guess Pompey would have been top of their list if only they hadn't committed Hara Kiri in the style that an awful lot of our supporters have wanted us to follow!
I wonder if Duda and/or Rupp will start against Bournemouth. That would be an indication that they could be key players for the run-in rather than routine signings for the Championship next season. It would be enough for me if we show improvement and perhaps get off the bottom, which makes this a definite must win for that to happen, given the games we have coming up.
We need to sign 3 centre backs and play them all to stand any chance of reversing this 1 win in 17 run . Nearly half a season with 1 win is relegation form no matter how well we played or scored first
Didn't Duda say in his interview that he first needed to get up to match fitness? Rupp's last appearance for Hoffenheim was in early November. I'd be surprised if either started, though Rupp might get some minutes later on. But who knows; they may be in a better state than those they would replace.
I think it was more about match tempo, but it may be similar. A start might be too much, but one or both might be on the bench but it's hard to say. Spurs away would be a tough debut, but the cup match at Burnley could be an opportunity for a start.
