What p1ssed people off wasnt the actual injury .. it was the fact he had left the field then came back on (even though a sub was ready to come on) to fall down and waste more time .. was truly pathetic and imho he should have been carded for blatant time wasting/ unsporting behaviour. Given he had already been booked for a flying arm in the face of one of our defenders (again which in most cases should ha e got a straight red) he'd have been off, they'd have been down to ten and it would have sent a message no more time wasting.

 

He was off the pitch , if he was injured the only reason he came on was to lie down and waste time , absolutely shocking and yes he should have been carded again and sent off.

 

Absolutely agree with this. Not a big fan of Irvine but do absolutely recognise he sometimes hits a great pass from deep (as for Bowen's goal at Fulham), whereas in the number 10 role he tends to try too many fancy flicks which don't come off and also doesn't get into the box enough - compared with that drive Honeyman made into the box that got Bowen's goal at Hillsborough. There again, if he plays deeper I think he needs someone alongside him as he's not great in the tackle!

 

Only Looton and Wigan got less.

This is so simple.
Dont even have to make a decision. Just stop the 'in play clock' every time the ball is out of play.
There has to be a minimum number of minutes the ball is in play.
Refs can still card players (GK on Sat) for delay of game

 

It’s no use producing a card in the last 5-10 minutes of a game when they have been taking the piss for 80-85 minutes.

 

Let’s just think how we will be if we’re 1-0 up against Chelsea with ten minutes to go!!

The point is you get the 'right amount' of football. Doesnt matter how much faffing around players do they still have to do complete the required amount of time with the ball in play. Not sure what that time is. 30mins???. Somebody will be measuring it across the league

 

Sorry my mistake thats absolute rubbish. I was thinking about a half. Its actually less than 30mins PER HALF

 

I'm sure there was some stats on this previously and it was about 60 mins per match.
