The Nabster was last off the pitch apart from Gallagher, who was talking to someone in the West Stand. The way he walked off slowly on his own may be an indication that he knows his days here are numbered. I can't imagine that he'll find another set of fans in this division who would be so tolerant, but he does seem likeable.

Geat last ditch tackle from the Nabster though at one point, the WBA player about 10 yards out with only Phillips to beat.

What a great afternoon at the Valley! :emoticon-0165-muscl :emoticon-0152-heart :emoticon-0171-star:
Terrific crowd, feisty game with plenty of fast paced action, felt just like old times <ok>

I was surprised to read the official attendance still under 20,000.
Could have sworn there were close to 20,000 actually in the Valley, so expected the official figure to be around 22,000.
Maybe a lot of those who haven't been around much were ST holders, so were counted anyway in past weeks.

Anyway, a cracking day out. And a draw that felt like a win (to me anyway).
There's a lot of work still to do, and Charlton need some actual 3 point wins soon rather than moral victories.
But well done to LB and the team on the day.

The new era has begun! :1980_boogie_down::emoticon-0157-sun:

How many individual posters were saying that though. I would be surprised if it was even 100 if you actually count them.
Even if each one posted the message dozens of times, there were still only a handful of them really.

I think there was a very high number of boycotters at one time, but probably 90% of them decided to return at the beginning of this season after the wonderful success at Wembley.
And many of those who did come back in August were not noisy self-proclaimed boycotters, they were just fed-up fans who decided after Wembley that Lee Bowyer had brought pride back to CAFC and they were going to return and support him.

It is easy to exaggerate the number of fans who belong to any given group, because of the length and persistence of noise that they make.
I have done that myself in the past, with regard to anti-protest fans.
On a much bigger forum, the same mistake could easily be made about boycotters.

Sarr certainly won’t be getting £8,000 a week from another club in the Championship, and it’s inconceivable that we will offer him a new deal beyond this summer. He is far too accident prone.

This thread & forum are coming together in harmony now we have had the takeover, suitably assisted by the match day return of some of our best posters and @Beware of the Virus

With the return of the annoying midget & the Senior Statesman @AllHellLetLoose , we just need confirmation of whether the drunken, trouserless walrus was there yesterday.

    @Clb74 ?

Despite the injury list it's been the injury-free defense which has cost us recently, Lockyer being the latest to blot his copybook, giving the ball away for their first, then getting into a wrestling match in midfield which could have cost us another. Solly is reaching the end of the line, Purrington has been shown up as a L1 F B, as well as Naby's accidents-waiting-to-happen. The bright spot has been Alf Doughty's emergence as someone who can play at this level.

A lovely little cameo from the Welsh Messi when he came on yesterday. He scares the sh1t out of the opposition, and his vision & touch are a level above the rest in our team.

    Please now stay fit :emoticon-0100-smile

That was great. I worried both thies we went behind that the quality WBA have all over the pitch (and the bench) would overwhelm us, but both times we showed how much spirit we have in our squad these days. A special plus to see the youngster get his first goal for the club - in fron to 19000 fans and against a team fancied for automatic promotion. Suddenly some of our injured are appearing on the bench again. And we can hope for some much needed reeinforcments joining us january. There is still a way to go, but there is a Good feeling about the club now.
