Just watched The Irishman over two nights, totally brilliant, and with some fantastic actors, quite sad though.

Defiance was on BBC 2 last night, Daniel Craig stars in the true story of Jewish brothers who saved 1,200 Eastern European Jews by hiding them in a forest in Poland in WW2. Well worth a watch if you get the chance.

Watched it this morning, it's good, it must beat the record for the most cigarettes ever smoked in a film.

Martin Scorsese’s mob epic The Irishman has been revealed as the leading film at the 2020 Critics’ Choice Awards.

The three-and-a-half hour drama — which stars Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Al Pacino, following the story of notorious union leader Jimmy Hoffa and hitman Frank Sheeran — is featured in 14 categories, including Best Picture.

De Niro is given a nod in the Best Actor field, while Pacino and Pesci are both named as possibles for Best Supporting Actor. Scorsese is up for Best Director.

Go see 1917 as soon as you can.

Went yesterday. Absolutely sublime. Best film of 2019 by a mile imo. Rightly a front runner at the Oscars.

I watched The Spy last week, it’s pretty good, but it’s odd watching Sacha Baron Cohen playing such a serious role, I kept expecting jokes.

I’m now watching Messiah, which is quite a clever idea, interesting to see how the modern world reacts to Jesus rocking up.

Watched both "The Spy" with Sacha Baron Cohen and "Messiah'. The first, a true story, was brilliant with Cohen excellent in the title role. The Messiah is an interesting attempt to hypothesize on the political/social impact of "the second coming". Fascinating theme. I am eagerly looking forward to the second season.

Watched The Messiah aka Issa 2.0, thought it was a bit slow and dull.
    The Spy was better IMHO.

Not my usual thing, but thought the first two episodes of The Outsider were decent.
