Was working in Italy last week & saw Gabbi playing - poor service & very much the same outcome; although he did have one golden opportunity which he should have buried but skewed wide.
So many sides involved in the relegation battle today, yet MOTD choose again to focus on the top end. All first four sides shown are looking at European football.
We have now won more games than arsenal, palace and wolves which I find hard to believe. Tied with sheff, spurs and Everton on 8. Full credit to the whole club. Fantastic turnaround.
Curious when we all accept that Mourinho hasn't evolved to manage in the modern era and that unless he does, he's not really a top-quality manager. Because it feels like maybe we should have done that a couple years ago.
Leicester fans generally being very complimentary on FoxesTalk - A lot not happy about them playing the goals from the 9 nil before the match either.
I read a Leicester forum match thread earlier. They were all very complimentary of us and how we played and that we deserved to win by much more. That said...they were also as depressed and negative as we were when we were losing every week, shipping tonnes of goals, not scoring and in the bottom 3. And they're 2nd in the league...
Thing is that we have been the second best team in the league now for 10 matches, that's half the games we played.. It's just our poor start that means we aren't sitting where Leicester are.. This feels very much like the koeman season where we went on to batter everyone in the second half..
I think you’ll always find us being complimentary as I see us as very similar sized clubs with similar approaches (youth etc) so we can relate to each other. A few years ago you were the blueprint for us to follow. We’ve temporarily overtaken more down to our own fantastic ownership but things can change quickly. I think the view of our fans is down to how poor the performances are not even the results and the fact that being a long term Leicester supporter you know that we always manage to shoot ourselves in the foot. That’s why from the outside people would look and say what are you worrying about with the gap to 5th we’ve built up but to us it’s knowing where this is going....feels like we’ve blown it. I guess the fact losing out on top 4 being such a blow is part of your point as well and yes we don’t expect that and should really be happy with top half but I’m sure most football fans outside those of the big clubs really want to see clubs like us, Wolves and even yourselves challenge the clubs and not have our squads picked clean by them (what you can relate to more than any club).
You lot this year remind me of us in Ron's first season, we had no where near the points advantage you lot do but were in the top 4 until February but ultimately squad depth let us down. Think what might help you though, combined with the obvious advantage you have, is that neither Mourinho or Ole look like making Spuds/United anywhere near consistent enough to really trouble you. Top 6 would still be a great season for you. Interested to see how you go from here though, Brenda's first real rough patch at your place (and obviously didn't have that issue at Celtic), so we'll see what he's made of now and how much he's really improved since Liverpool.
Which season was that? The one we won it because you were top 6 in the end that season weren’t you? You could be right about Spurs but now Kane is out they’ll play well as they always do! I do think Man Utd are picking up though. Hopefully the cushion we have is enough and tbf you are the first team to beat us that isn’t Man Utd or the top 2. Depends how we respond. Probably fitting revenge for you guys is your pay back for the 9-0 derails our season! Top 6 was the aim before the season but hopes and expectations do change. To have a 15 point lead or whatever it was and mess it up would be crushing. I think it’s the pressure to gain success that comes with knowing the vultures will be in to pick the bones clean as you know. We couldn’t even keep Kante after the title! I’m unsure how Brenda will react. Sees very tactically aware most of the time but not others like leaving Chilwell on yesterday. I suppose a good time for a bad run is early Jan, put the vultures off and highlight the need for reinforcements
