Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho, speaking to Sky Sports:"Yesterday we spent half an hour defending throw-ins and we lost the game on the throw-in. I think the refs did a very good job, but the assistant on the opposite side didn’t see that Mane touched the ball." Maybe spend your time on shooting practice Jose?
My pulse has slowed some what now, really thought spurs where going to get something at the end. Going to put it down to one of those games, everything was just slightly off, spurs sitting in their own half for the first 45 minutes masked it but on another day we could have been punished for some of our mistakes. Mourinho game plan from start to finish and it nearly game to fruition. Not attractive to watch but it will garner results.
In an interview with Sky Sports Martin Atkinson has just conceded that the PL is now out of his hands
Atkinson vows to keep fighting for the rest of the season but admits it would take massive improvement from Liverpool's opponents for his decisions to now have any impact on the title
How good is Alisson by the way.. Fielded absolutely everything that came his way.. Does the simple things excellently and consistently and that's the most important thing for a keeper.
He was great in an understated way today . Really impressive both in his handling and playing sweeper .
Well done Reds. Not the easiest of wins but it's still 3 points in the bag and another step closer to what you all deserve.
Danny Ings has helped his former club by scoring the goal that beat Leicester. Have we made a mistake of selling him?
A few saying terrible performance. Don’t forget this was away to a Jose “don’t lose to Liverpool at all cost” Mourinho team.
Imagine going to watch your team at home and the manager instructing your team to get 11 men behind the ball for the full 90mins.
It was like a league one side drawing a top team in the F A Cup - id be ashamed of that if I was a spurs fan
I agree to an extent. They had zero intent in actually playing football today and deservedly lost. However some of our passing and lack of concentration on the ball was woeful and we caused ourselves problems. We had all the control of the game and should have been like the Leicester game
Mourinho is not right for Spurs. Spurs of recent years have been a hard pressing, good attacking side on a shoestring budget. Today, the chequebook manager conceded possession and camped the team in their own half at home. Not a right fit imo for their aspirations with the big teams when the attitude is not to lose
It wasn't pretty (apart from the goal), but we'd have bitten off the arm of anyone who offered that beforehand. And a couple of seasons ago we'd have considered it a massive achievement. It shows how far we've come that we can go to Spurs - under Mourinho - and come away with a win and people are still unhappy.
