Fair play to Parkinson.... I really thought the writing was on the wall for him given the start he made, but the Xmas period seems to have been the turning point, I have no issue with eating humble pie...Keep it going Parkinson, you're proving me and good few other absolutely wrong.

Good substitution as Gooch has ran himself into the ground.

Have to say this ref is awful. We’ve had 2 yellows and they’ve had none but they’ve just kicked everything above grass.

Its greedy, but we nearly get the fifth, and our defence stand firm right to the end well done Sunderland and of course PP.

Hoped Parky would start to turn it round given time. Looks like we may have hit bottom and the only way from now on is UP!

Our midfield was so dominant today, hoof balls not required.

Superb win and great performance from every Sunderland player. By far the best performance of the season.

We really suit the 343 formation too and we're pleasing on the eye. Phil Parkinson has set the team up perfectly and his tactics are spot on.

I hear lots of fans have humble pie waiting for them on the dining table this evening :cheesy:

Next 3 games are all winnable then a tough visit to Pompey where I would settle for a draw.

Getting tight at top . If all the teams between 3rd and 8th win games in hand on top 2 - there’ll just be 3 pts from top to eighth.

Game on now for promotion....hands up, not a PP fan but congrats to him. He could have been minutes from getting the taxi but hung in there. If this lad has 'true grit'.....then it's certainly a big requirement for the job he's doing now. Onward and upward... :)

Its an odd one, but this is more or less the system and team that JR started this season with and it went pear shaped. I think our strength and fitness has improved beyond recognition and this points the finger at his coaching methods and staff, simply out of their depth imo. and it cost us dearly. This team would have beaten Charlton at Wembley imo. and will if it can be kept together, will get us up this time. OaU.
